Sherman Hills Golf Club
This course is one of our favorites.
The fairways have grass on them-not mowed real short, traps are in good condition, & the greens were a bit slow, but mostly in good shape.

Nice Layout, located just north of Tampa, its a very easy drive to get there. Just one turn off I75. Greens rolled smooth but there were quite a few burnt out spots on the back nine Looked like the greens weren't freshly cut as they were coverd with dew until nearly noon.... We had an 8am Saturday Tee time and the tees were backed up. 2nd hole is a par 3 which really adds to the early back up from the start. They course design is nice, and there are a few up hill and down hill holes but nothing too extreme. Worth a try especially for 28$ including a hot dog and beer...

I had a friend in from Milwaukee (Where of course there are Great Greens at EVERY course, even the $15 publinks. Bermuda.) and I decided to take him to a neat place with rolling hills like he was used to playing. It has been near 5 years since I played Sherman ( I used to drive there from Valrico 2 or 3 times a month!) and remembered it was a lot of fun to play.
It was no surprise that the place was in great shape... and the greens were tour quality fast and smooth!!!! I felt like a proud new dad bringing him here and will start making the drive regularly again!
Thanks All !!!!

Sherman Hills was a phenomenal course. I am from Zephyrhills and usually play Silverado an lake Jovita.
For the money we spent in Sherman hills, it was the most bang for my buck. I okay from the tips and am around a 10 hdcp. The tips tees defiantly make the course more challenging as you need to be able to shape almost every tee shot.
The course is more of a links style course than the north course at Jovita. The course has a lot I elevation change and is very undulated. This presents many different lies from the fairways and also the rough. For me, my landing area was smaller as the fairways shrink down the further up you get, but the first cut of Bermuda is rather large so you are still able to play I you aren't in the short grass.
The only problem we encounters on the day was our cart. They had a tournament that day and we had to wait until 10 mins before our tee time to receive a cart for play.
This is my new favorite course an considering it costs almost half a round of lake Jovita, I will be playing here a lot more.
Beware, the greens are treacherous as they are very quick from downhill and Sidehill lies.
