Sherman Hills Golf Club
The course was tricky since it was the first time I played it. There were some hidden drop offs and several times I hit great shots and was penalized. Overall the course was in good shape. Tee boxes had longer grass than normal as well as fairways. There were a couple greens that had some problems, but most were better than average.

Is you discounted price really a discount?
Wanting to try a new course, I went on Golfnow and paid my service fee. I paid the $29 at the course. When I drove in, they had large signs posting their after 11AM rate and weekday rates that were much cheaper. Their regular weekend rate was $29 so it cost me money to go to Golfnow.
The front nine is open with no trees. Very boring and hot. The houses are right on the course. The back nine was a better test of golf.
The course was in good shape. The greens were slow but very fair. I shot a good score.
I probably will not return.

Sherman Hills is a hidden gem that proves what can happen when the owners give a #$%.
The greens were recently punched but the tee boxes, fairways, sand in the bunkers as well at the bunkers being well groomed shows that they care.
The routing was great with rolling hills, elevate fairways with collection areas and a modern take on turtle back greens.
There were a few greens that needed some love but at this time in the summer most courses are fighting to keep their greens fresh.
I loved it!

This course is a challenge after the rains, but drainage is excellent.
This is a fun course. I usually shoot better on drier days. I had the place to myself, after the rains. I got caught in a 20 minute downpour. Ahhh. No rush and overall a great time. Friendly staff. The greens need a little attention, they are coming back though. Nice fairways. All around just beautiful.

Fun course for all skill levels, at an excellent value. Front 9 is basically "grip it and rip it", while the back 9 requires more strategically placed shots to score well. Nice par-5 finishing hole - go for it in 2 if you dare, with water behind the green.
Good food and drink in the remodeled clubhouse, at very refreshing prices. Friendly service throughout.

While the greens need attention, Sherman Hills always puts a smile on my face
My second trip to Sherman Hills just confirmed everything I thought about it after my first visit. This is a just a wonderful layout that is a ton of fun to play. There are challenging shots to be made all over the place: Flying the bunker with the drive off #3, staying left with the drive on #4, avoiding the big tree on #11, dealing with the false front on #13 and I still haven't figured out how to properly manage #14. On this visit, I did find that a significant percentage of the greens were just about gone...which also led to much harder pin placements, because they cut the holes in sections with as much grass as possible. I'm very hopeful that the greens will receive the attention they deserve in the coming weeks. I did notice that a number of golf carts had torn seats on the driver side, so be selective when loading up your clubs on arrival. I really root for this property and think if you appreciate a good layout, you can deal with its flaws, remote location and simply enjoy the day.

The course is in wonderful shape. Hats off to the staff!! The price is right. Fairways are plush. Greens are in great shape and as tough as they come. I shot 80 from the tips, I was happy.

Good deal but it's crowded. Waited to tee off on every single hole.
