The Dunes is an award-winning Arthur Hills-designed layout built among the unique terrain in the sand hills of West Central Florida. Arthur Hills utilized and expanded the existing weather-worn sand dunes, terrain and Pine Valley-like views to create a golf experience you won't soon forget. Dramatic elevation changes, forced carries and large, undulating greens provide all levels of golfers a challenge to remember.

The excellently maintained playing surfaces include 419 Bermuda grass on the fairways and roughs while the greens feature Pike Creek tifdwarf native grasses. Local fauna provides a rough natural look in the out lying areas while the playing surfaces are impeccably groomed and maintained.

appreciation Lots of waist bunkers and sand traps, really interesting course, green well protected and in a good condition... would play there anytime. January 9, 2015
Give the Dunes a BIG Break Having lived in Hernando County for the past four years I have played the Dunes Golf Club before and after it's closing. I would like to point out that the Club closed in the spring of 20013 and laid dormant until it re-opened later that fall. I have read the negative reviews regarding the spotty fairways and washed out bunkers However I would like to point out that this golf course layout and beauty can not be found elsewhere in the Nature Coast. The staff and grounds crew have been diligent in bringing the course back into form. For the above average Hacker like myself the green fees, amenities, pace of play and hospitable employees at the Dunes can not be matched. Unless you believe that you're ready for the PGA tour and should be playing venues like DORAL or RIVERA may I suggest you all give the DUNES golf club a BIG BREAK!! January 8, 2015
Start of a comeback Let me start by saying this is one of my favorite tracks ever. I've played there hundreds of times. It's nice to see it's starting to come back into shape. The fairways leave a lot to be desired. But the greens are coming in nicely and the track is an outstanding layout as always. Hopefully it will continue to progress back to the jewel that it once was. I urge you to give the course another look, try to see the course for what it can be not necessarily what it is. Fun course Sign says under new mgmt. Seemed very short staffed. Didn't have the usual water and ice on the porch, but the course is fun. All in all it was in great shape for this time of year. Greens ran a little slow, but we're in good shape. I always enjoy playing this course...similar to Pine Barrens at World Woods..just not as manicured and less expensive. January 6, 2015
Experience Beautiful course. Greens could use some care. Lay out of course is spectacular. Can't wait to go back. January 4, 2015
Needs grass I was in the area and decided to play this course based on photos I had seen. Bad idea. The fairways are terrible. I had to move my ball just to find a patch of grass to hit my ball from. Looking out over the course you can see potential because the layout looks nice. I will never play here again and I suggest others do not waste their time. January 2, 2015
Great Layout, Condition Improving We played on a chilly, overcast day, but the round was enjoyable. The layout is challenging, but fair. The greens were mostly in pretty good condition, but there were numerous local areas of distress. There were many areas outside the fairways where the grass was covered in some sort of fungus that looks like goose dropping, making the footing treacherous. I hope the condition continues to improve, but I'll be back because I like the course. January 1, 2015
Dunes still needs work We've played this course many times and really enjoy the layout. But there were many bare spots in the fairways. However, the greens were in great shape. The two of us played in 3 hr 15 minutes - we only saw one other group the entire round. Hopefully, the course will improve. At the GolfNow price, it was still a good deal. January 1, 2015
