Baywood Greens 4.5 5 31 31
Bring your A game If you want a challenge this is a course for you. You must hit quality shots to score well, the greens are large and fast. The back nine has water on most of the holes and an island fairway to test your driving skills. If you’re planning an OC golf trip Baywood Greens is a must play. October 22, 2012
Too early in the year to play here Can't complain for $25 to play a great course but late-March was just too early after a long, cold winter. The greens had been aerated in early March according to an employee but were still brown, sandy and bumpy. The grass hadn't started growing so the tee boxes and fairways were still pretty bare and of course almost none of their famous flowers and bushes were in bloom yet. This is a 5-star course in-season but only rates 3 stars at this time of year. April 4, 2013
Very well kept course! Although the greens were aerated recently, the whole experience was worth the discounted rate for sure. Love the course! All staff were very friendly! April 4, 2013
A must play in the MD and DE area! This is my favorite course. The staff is super friendly. The course is always well maintained and in the summer is spectacular. Very challenging layout with an island fairway. Lots of water and sand traps. This is a must play for anyone in the MD and DE area. You will not be disappointed. March 30, 2013
Great course This is a great course with one big exception, the greens. It is my opinion that they are getting too much sand into the greens. They take forever to heal after aeration. March 25, 2013
BAYWOOD I'VE PLAYED BAYWOOD MANY TIMES, THIS IS ONE OF THE FINEST GOLF COURSES YOU WILL EVER PLAY. EVEN THOUGH JUST AIRATED THE GOLF NOW PRICE WAS UNBELIEVABLE. THIS IS A MUST PLAY COURSE DURING THE SPRING AND SUMMER WHEN THE FLOWERS AND LANDSCAPING IS AT IT'S BEST. IF YOU PLAY IT ONCE, YOU WILL DEFINITELY PUT ON YOU NEXT GOLF TRIP SCHEDULE March 17, 2013
great course great price during the winter this is one of the best courses anywhere. prices are good in the winter and high in the summer as you would expect for a great course in a resort location February 26, 2013
Still My Favorite Course in the Area! I've always loved the entire package at Baywood Greens. (layout, club house, eye candy galore, etc.) However, when you play in the winter months they are always doing A LOT of maintenance work. This means several holes have dug up areas, workers standing in the fairway, carts always zooming by when you are swinging, etc. The greens were also recovering from a recent aeration and you had only 2 choices on the tee...... the women's tees or the beast tees! REALLY... who made that call? They also started us on #10 when I played.... THANK THE LORD that they didn't jam us up and they kept that format throughout the day. There was several areas that had water standing too. All this being said I still love the place. They should just be more hospitable during the off-season with the prices and remember that the folks on the course are the customers. February 16, 2013
Baywood Green is a great course This course is always $100 + in the summer; and probably worth every penny. Playing in Feb., the only thing missing was the normal $1,000,000 worth of flowers. Conditions were great. It's generally cart path only in Feb. The happy hour in the clubhouse is a "don't miss". February 16, 2013
Baywood Greens good for the time of year Traveled from Baltimore to the Eastern Shore, (Delaware) to play this course. During the summer, beautifully landscaped course, but @ a price. But during the winter, the course is stripped of its showy, floral accoutrements, and beneath lies a really playable course. Very fair, with an interesting "island fairway" Par 4. The greens had a "late aeration," (they were still pretty bumpy), but for $19.00, what a bargain! February 11, 2013
Great Layout Great couse to play but it looks like they aerated the greens late in the season last year so they are playable but pretty bumpy. January 14, 2013
They call this course Augusta North and for good reason Even in the dead of winter in the northeast, this course is fun and challenging to play. January 11, 2013
great course It was a great day. I played there with my father in law on my b-day. The course was very chalenging since we mistakenly played from the longest t-boxes! It looked like a country club style. first 9 is fun and more challenging. few island holes which added to the fun! the range was very nice as well! i would play there again in summer time. December 11, 2012
Great Course Got a hot deal from Golfnow and played for $34 on a 60 degree December day. I loved the layout and heard this course is gorgeous in the Spring/Summer when they landscape for the season. Both the fairways and greens were aerorated, but I'm not complaining with the price I payed. This course if pricy during the in-season but I would definitely come back. December 3, 2012
Excellent layout and well maintained It was an excellent course but at the time we played yesterday it was right after the whole-course airation. And the windy weather blew leaves all over the place. We did not enjoy as much but it was unfortunate timing, not the course. November 26, 2012
Alot of fun playing this course Im a golfer that averages between 95 and 105 and found this course to be challenging for me especially the Island fairway. Had a great round for me with a 95 playing from the black tees. The course was in great shape and the staff outstanding. I had alot of fun and will go back for sure. November 25, 2012
Great layout but disappointed not told the greens had just been aerated The course was a great layout and fun to play. I was very disappointed because we were not told that they had just aerated all of the greens and about a fourth of the fairways. The greens were terrible to putt on because of that and often times hitting from the fairway was akin to hitting out of a sand trap. The layout was great but I would have played somewhere else had I known of the condition. I wish they would have forewarned us, it was poor form to fail to do that. I gave it four stars based on what I would expect if course was in good condition, the only problem was not being told we would be playing in such poor conditions. November 24, 2012
Very nice course, poor value I've played this course many times. It is visually appealing, with meticulous attention to detail. This applies to the playing areas as well as the "decorative" plantings. Sometimes known as "the Augusta of the North." Yes, it is that nice! As for the playing area, it is very well maintained. Fairways are fairly generous, although stray tee shots can find OB or trouble in this mostly tree-lined course. Greens are receptive, a touch on the fast side for a public course and has break. The rough, although not overly long, is well maintained and thick. Water is a feature on many holes, with #14 being a great risk/reward hole. Hint: bring 2 sleeves with you. All that being said, you will find the pace of play very s-l-o-w. 5+ hours is not un-common during the height of the season. The staff talks a good game regarding keeping up pace, but do not act to enforce the rules. GPS-equipped carts are banned from par 3's #I'm OK with that# and on 4 of the remaining 14 fairways, leaving a total of only 10 fairways that the GPS is useful. Cart path-only pay is not uncommon for 2-3 days after rains. Now, the price. Be prepared for sticker shock during the season. Play during the shoulder season is less harmful to the wallet. If you have the time and the $ while in the DE/MD beach areas, play this course. November 24, 2012
Best of the best This place has it all. Island greens. Island fairways. Uphill shots, downhill shots. Great bunkering and true greens. Gps in the carts. Perfect warmup facility. Wonderful staff and the course is so beautiful with all the flowers. A true must play. I am from ny and this would easily cost $150 here. November 21, 2012
holes 14-18 are as interesting as any finishing holes I've played Temperature was around 50 degrees, and the wind was blowing about 20 mph, therefore it was a very challenging experience. Very accomodating staff, and the practice facilities were more than adequate. November 19, 2012
Great day good weather, course in great condition. Great experience no waiting. Great conditions very nice layout. Can't wait to go back. Perfect time of year. Many people sshy away from Baywood due to slow play but not this day. all employees very gracious. November 15, 2012
Enjoyable golf Played second time in 2 weeks and course was not busy. Enjoyed the course and the people were very nice. Will play here again. October 23, 2012
Fantastic Course Had a fantastic experience here. It was cart path only, but still had a great time. The staff are great and the amenities are great for the price. It is very clean and the course is very well maintained. There are a number of challenges which make this course unique for the area. Without question, I will look forward to playing here again soon!!! October 11, 2012
Beautiful and Challenging Be sure to play this course if you get the chance. Course conditions were great, many distinctive holes, beautifully groomed grounds. A great experience. October 4, 2012
Beautiful course This course is lined with exceptional landscaping. It is a well marked course, offering a great round of golf to all who play it. I would highly recommend this to anyone traveling in Delaware. Finding this course on GolfNow proved to be a little tricky- finally found it under Richmond, VA- makes no sense to me. October 2, 2012
course is always in great shape Love the course, need to work on pace of play, they new pace was slow and I saw no indication of an effort to speed it up September 24, 2012
Beautiful course, very slow play made it not enjoyable. Round took 5-1/2 hours to complete. Played on a weekday. Had to wait on every shot. Never saw a course ranger. Had to push ranger request button on GPS several times until someone finally arrived. Told us they knew play was backed up for many holes but never offered to go out and try to move people along. Beautiful course but no fun to play when so slow. Recommend course only if pace of play is improved or you like slow play. September 24, 2012
The best course on the DelMarVA shoreline! My son and I started playing Baywood back when it was just 9 holes. Back then you could tell it was going to not only be a golf masterpiece, but a landscaping masterpiece as well...and the hospitality has been top notch from day one. Robert Tunnell thought of everything when he built this course. The wide range of tees gives scratch golfers all they want, while the front tees allow a young junior (like my son was back when the course opened) to enjoy the beauty as well. And the landscaping, beautiful bridges, outbuildings, clubhouse and flowers...WOW...I've never seen anything like it! This place is golf paradise! September 24, 2012
great course with southern charm Beautiful course and one of the nicest courses in southern Delaware. If you have only time to play one course when you are visiting lower Delaware this should be the one. September 24, 2012
Course is beautiful Baywood Greens is no doubt beautiful and a must play once in a while. However, it is too expensive to play consistently like other courses in the area. It is very challenging! September 24, 2012
