Tahoe's Best 18 hole Resort Golf Value. Designed by Robert Muir Graves, Northstar California's 18-hole, par-72 golf course incorporates Tahoe's mountainous landscapes with Martis Valley's open meadow into two distinct 9-hole settings that will both challenge a golfer's skills and appeal to his and her senses. The result is a vibrant and exciting golf course, whose features create a challenging flow that seamlessly moves in and over the natural terrain. The Meadow Nine (holes 1-9) opens to a links-style course, allowing golfers to "grip it and rip it." The Mountain Nine (holes 10-18) demands precise shot-making through tree-lined fairways and approach shots to small greens. Either way that you play it, the course at Northstar California continues to offer Tahoe's Best Resort Golf Experience. Playing up to 6,781 yards, the Northstar Golf Course offers four tee locations and carries a rating of 72.4 from the Northern California Golf Associationp>.

Northstar Golf Course 3.5 5 6 6
Dr. Jekyll/ Mr. Hyde type of course---front nine in a meadow, back nine with narrow fairways and lots of trees. Interesting layout, but one that needs to be played more than once to avoid unpleasant surprises. Great place to practice both links and mountain style golf. If you tend to spray your shots, bring lots of golf balls. October 13, 2012
Fantastic scenery.some tough holes. The course was very, very wet. Almsot marsh like in some places. We try to play there at least once a year. It was in much better shape in previous years. The people in the pro shop and restaurant are always so friendly and helpful. October 4, 2012
Fun and challegeing 2nd nine more challenging but intereting and fun. Very friendy and helpful staff. We plan on returning again soon. October 4, 2012
Management must not be paying attention to the operation. The staff did not represent the course well. Rude, inattentive and hassled our foursome through out the round. After the round the staff were still awful in the club house and bar. We won't be back. September 25, 2012
A Mountain to Meadow jewel The Northstar golf course is is a course of two faces. The front nine takes you out into the meadows with just a flavor of Alpine trees while the back nine is target oriented mountain golf. Just when you think the course offers you a blessing in the form of flat to gently undulating holes with great views of the Truckee meadows and basin, you hit the 10th hole. From there, the difficulty is magnified as the tall pines line the fairways and undulations turn into something much greater. I have always found the back nine to be a great measure of how good a golfer's game is. Play the back nine at bogey level and you are a better player... The lower the stronger a player you are.
