First time at Santa Clara Golf Course My overall first time experience at this golf course was good. Great course for people just starting out to play like me. The staff were friendly and helpful. The marshall at the 1st hole even went to the pro shop and got us a map of the course, which was very nice and helpful. The people who played around my tee time were also friendly. I will be coming back to play here again. =) August 17, 2014
Stadium View Traffic in and out and finding parking is bad due to event. Lateral water and wet on number of fairways. August 15, 2014
not friendly to first timers So many blind tee shots, no clue as to where the hole is! Right from the first hole, you have no idea where to aim. There is no map on the scorecard, and no depiction of the hole layout on the tee marker. Combined with a half hour traffic delay due to Levi's stadium, it made for a frustrating day. People familiar with the course layout and traffic probably love it. For someone who was constantly hitting over a hill until you knew it was dogleg left or right, it was not a fun day. Plan Your Drives Carefully You need to plan your drives carefully on this course. There are several blind shots. I found I did not need a driver the entire round. A 3-metal worked fine. Unfortunately there are no hole diagrams on the scorecard or at each tee. However, you can purchase a yardage guide in the pro shop. We enjoyed our round at the Santa Clara Golf Course. The fairways did have some bare spots on them. The greens were fast and in good shape. The bunkers were in good shape with plenty of sand. There is plenty of drinking water on the course good for those hot Santa Clara summers. August 6, 2014
A little Pricey for Conditions Great layout, forgiving and challenging. However the fairways are torn up and they seem to be letting it go because of the new stadium and impending parking lot usage. $50 with cart for a course with considerable dirt patches throughout the fairways is a little much. Don't ride along I am a blogger and a wife of a newly turned professional player. As my blog subject this week I have been encouraging my husband by waking up and going with him to practice every morning (7 days only). Today I was charged 24$ to ride along in the cart that was included in the price. Taking a 9 hole round from 23$ to 44$ just because I was a "spectator". Probably won't choose this course again. I could spend 23$ to sit at a good movie - more expensive than IMAX! Whole I am not a player, this behavior and attitude toward spouses of players at 5am on a Tuesday when they offer 150$ 20 round cards - is appalling. July 29, 2014
pace of play, OUT OF CONTROL course was over booked. very slow play. averge of 8 minutes between each shot. no marshall. golfers driving all over course cutting in front of other golfers July 25, 2014
Conditions worsening! I have played this course for a very long time and used to love this course...too bad Levi Stadium renovations, lack of maintenance, poor marshaling for tournament play....pace of play was over 6 hours with 3-4 groups on par 3 holes...ridiculous...very disappointing. Would not recommend this course anymore. July 20, 2014
