Quick Greens
One thing I like about Riverwalk are the quick and well maintained greens. Despite half of the greens being aerated, they were still playable. Smartly they aerate their greens in halves so they put the pin on the non aerated side and it's still quite playable.

Well maintained, good greens.
Riverwalk offers a nice diversity in play. Three separate 9-hole courses with Presidio & Mission offering scenic layouts. The greens were all in great condition with subtle undulations.

Course is well maintained
Search for the best deals, when you find it this course is a great play, most of the time you can get around the course with ease, the staff needs some golf etiquette .

Fairways not in good shape, greens ok even punched
We played in approx. 4 hrs. 30 min. We were lucky enough to have a quick group ahead of us and slow one behind us. Never had to wait and never had the group behind us waiting. This is odd in my experience at this course as historically it seems there are always at least a couple of holes that back up. The greens had been punched, but only half way which was nice because the pins were placed on smooth nice rolling sections. The fairways were in need of work and they appeared to be getting the attention they need. But it seems they were fighting a losing battle with idiotic golfers who have no idea of golf cart/course etiquette or the ability to read signs. The classic was a CARTS -> sign that had been run over, flattened, thus becoming a new path for other dummies to follow even though the sign could still be read. The staff in the pro shop were nice and efficient as was the guy who assigned you a cart. Starters were jovial as usual. This is a fun track which is close to home and pretty much worth the $$$.

It was a decent place nothing special
Pace was ok; tee times managed well; very playable course; is a bit pricey due to central location.

Overall fun course
The course was in great shape, especially the greens, fast where they weren't punch, appreciate your putting the cups in the non punched part of the greens...You may want to think about a little extra discount for players when you are punching the greens, but an overall wonderful experience....I like this course a lot!

Good golf, great course, good price.
The course was in great shape, even though the greens were half-aerated. Beautiful layout, easy to navigate, very enjoyable course.

Course was in great shape much better than maderas
Course was in great shape , only had two issues with the club. They were hitting off mats instead of grass on the range and they booked a tournament the same time we teed off. They gave us a rain check for the back nine because of the slow play.

Friars fairways need some work, green are great
Friars fairways need some grass. They are fairly bare. However the greens for all 18 holes roll like glass! Very fair course.

Great tee boxes & fairways. Pin placement was extremely challenging but rewarding.
The coarse was in great shape & the pace of play was ideal. The greens were well groomed & fairways were just maintenanced so all was good. The pin placements were difficult but were rewarding when executed. Overall, great day w/great golf conditions.

Lovely and beautiful course
This golf course is maintained very well, the staff are always cordial and usually the play is rapid. The food in the restaurant is good.

Fast greens
Not a bad layout. Greens were very fast and made it almost impossible to putt with some of the pin placements.Fairways in great shape.Overall i would play this course again.

Very Good place to play . Great value.
I have only been playing for 3 years and I play 1 or 2 times per week. I have played this course many times over the last year in all seasons. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a gem amist our shopping and business centers in Mission Valley..
Each time sI visited the course has been in pristine condition and a great value. Watch our for the great pin placements on hole 2 and 3 because the challenge can sometime rise above your abilty and force you to really rise to the occassion to drop one on these fast greens. The Pro shop and practice facilities are good and the people there are helpful, effient and friendly. The scenery from the clubhouse is breath taking and the is very comfortable to sit and have a meal or beverage. This Golf Course is excellently managed. Great Value.

Great location. Close to everything.
Normally the course is around $60-90 per round but I was able to score a $35 rate on Golfnow "hot deals." Great round. Well maintained course.

VERY pricey for what you get
I have played all three nines at Riverwalk. On the positive side, the course is very playable and convenient to San Diego. On the downside, they are obviously all about packing golfers on the course and making money.
While city residents are given a cut rate, they obviously want to discourage people from walking the course - even though it is extremely walkable. Riverwalk charges ONE rate whether you walk or ride, unless you're under 17. Further, they pack the back nine with "early-bird" golfers which did not afford me the opportunity to play the configuration I had booked.
There are much nicer courses in the area with better amenities who do not penalize walkers.

Exceptionally challenging greens!
I really enjoyed playing the course as did the others in my group. The course was/is very challenging and greens were LIGHTNING fast! Highly recommend

This course is challenging!
This course is pristine, the greens are challenging and fast. Holes 2 and 3, Driver is not needed. Hole 9 is imo, difficult. These 3 holes are on Mission. I've played this course 6 times and I finally shot under 100. I shot a 94 this past Monday! Could've been better but I left some putts...

Very enjoyable
Peter and I really enjoyed this course. We played Friars and Presidio nines. They were both playable nines and challenging enough. Courses was in excellent shape and the greens were fast.

Very nice course, good location in town. Well maintained, fast greens
Course was a little backed up, but no pressure when playing. Did have a tournament going that day, but did not affect us.
Very well maintained, challenging course for my level of play, but not intimidating. A very pleasurable afternoon.

Fun relatively easy golf course.
Good value for the price. Lots of sand and water. Easily walkable for those of us that prefer to walk. Easily accessible from almost any part of San Diego.

First time on this golf course
Lived in San Diego for over six years now and have never played this course. Saw a pretty good deal on GolfNow so decided to play it for the first time. I must say that this course is pretty nice. I only tried out the golf and driving range so speaking only of those. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in good shape. Only a couple of complaints: pace of play and the green. Marshall were out and about but did not really push people along. The greens rolled pretty true but were too fast. Took me over five holes to get used to them.

Great course with exception greens.
Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Course was well maintained and very green...ie not much dormant grass. Greens were in excellent shape and fairly quick. Course presented some super challenges but was very fair. Has 27 holes so lots of variety possible as well. Best value for the money!
