Fun Course Talega was nice and pace of play was really good. The sand traps need a lot of work as most of them the sand is hard packed due to over watering and lack of raking. There was some ground under repair around the course as well. The greens were really slow as well. The layout is nice with the front nine being far less challenging than the back nine. The facilities are okay...the driving range is quite a distance away and there is no chipping or sand practice area. July 30, 2015
Seen better days First, this course is a fantastic track and has some very challenging shots (especially if playing from the tips). However the course has seen better days as there were many areas in the fairways under repair where they are transitioning to a new type of grass. Some of the bunkers (not too many) are like concrete. Some of the greens seemed to be partially punched and torn up. Clearly people aren't fixing their divots because a.) they are over priveldged and self righteous, or b.) they think because they overpaid for the course they shouldn't have to. Remember, fix your divot and one other. The greens were probably running at about a 8 or 9, very furry. Used to play here often a couple years ago and the course was dynamite. I will give it about 3-6 months to grow before I even consider playing again. Unless of course I can get a hot deal for $35 and then perhaps I'll play it again. July 28, 2015
Maybe my new favorite course! Loved it. Played on Monday and had nobody either ahead of us or behind us. Great course conditions, except greens are extra slow. Very scenic holes. I will be back! July 28, 2015
Sunday afternoon golf Great value for the money. Pace was a bit slow with 2 twosomes playing ahead of us. Course official should keep an eye on that. Food and beverage cart lacked pre-made sandwiches, so nothing was available besides bars and chips. Otherwise, solid course. Will be back next week. July 27, 2015
Nice layout! I thought the course played very well with good fairways and true greens. I still don't care much for the two hidden fairways on the back, but could get used to with a little more play. The only real negative that I could see was a little more sand in the bunkers wouldn't be a bad idea. I thought that the overall condition of the course was better than I had heard from some of the annual members. Will play again. July 14, 2015
Serious about pace of play Me and my buddy were paired up w a nice couple. The lady was a beginner and pretty slow. Weather was so nice I didn't mind. At the turn, they told us to speed up or go back to hole 1 because they had to refund 2 people already who bailed due to the slow play our group was causing. Ended up ditching the couple and we immediately caught up to the single in front of us. Bummer the couple couldn't keep up, but the course did the right thing to speed up play. Single we paired up with was cool and gave good tips. Left my wedge on a hole and got it back. The guys will clean yer clubs at the end of the round and put yer clubs in your car. Give em a good tip! I will def be back and try the blue tees next. July 11, 2015
Greens in really nice shape just too slow Hadn't played this course in awhile, glad I came back. Fun course and was in pretty good shape, will definitely be back if I get another good golf now price! June 30, 2015
Great layout Great course, greens were a little slow but that seems to be the trend in Southern California because of the water restrictions, however they rolled fairly true! Pace of play was a little slow mostly because the starter had no clue what he was doing to there were quite a few groups bunched up... They currently are in a transition blending the grass on the fairway according to a sign at the 1st tee box however they looked surprisingly good for the water issues and the transition!
