I played the course on two successive days and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was reasonably challenging but not too difficult. I would certainly recommend it. The service in the restaurant was good and so was the lunch.

You enter the course through a shopping mall. Once on the grounds we were greeted with the news that the driving range requires you to pack a lunch to get to it and thus unless you are at the course at least 45 minutes early (we were there only 30 minutes early) you will not have time to hit balls. The counter staff made it a point to comment on the fact that we "booked through golf now" making us feel awkward about having done that. However, I alerted him that I had called the course specifically the day before because I was concerned about the reviews I saw saying the course was not in great shape. I was assured those reviews were wrong and that it was due to overseeding the tee boxes a month earlier and the course was now in great shape. No one mentioned the range nor is it covered on their website. Anyway on to the course. The fairways have many dirt patches, the sand traps are gravel pits and the grass is very brown. The tee boxes are splotchy and the greens are just ok. In fact the seat of our golf cart was missing a huge chunk of the cover. There was a foursome in front of us that were painfully slow and we never saw a marshall all day.
Overall a very mediocre course with no real appeal. Certainly not worth the $80 green fee we paid for it. Skip it unless you plan to combine a day of golf with some nearby outlet mall shopping.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Emilio3979880 Poor conditions
The course is in poor condition, mostly brown, with tee boxes that lack maintenance, and bunkers full with clay instead of sand. The water features were not working and the pond on 18 is half full leaving a sad memory of this course that was once one of the prettiest venues in South Orange County. No food or beverage cart; seemingly understaffed, the service was just average. On the positive, the greens are in above average comdition, quick and well maintained.

Little to no sand in the greenside bunkers, lost a few strokes here. Overall conditions were good, greens were great but traps need maintenance.

I really enjoy the course even though with the drought conditions the fairways are starting to suffer. What I do not understand is how bad the green are. Plenty of grass on them put its like putting on a carpet. Very slow and very bumpy. great course but awful greens. Played there 3 times now hoping they would improve but no such luck. Not sure I will again.

Fantastic round at Talega. The greens are in really good condition, the tee boxes are flat, and the fairways are green. I had a bit of difficulty navigating the back nine as there are a few blind shots. I can't wait to play Talega again! FYI- tees are covered with black stuff. Didn't bother me, but it might bother you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 3aceyuke Great golf course!
The golf course was in very good condition. The staff was extremely friendly and informative. But I gave one star for the pace of play because it took 5 hours to play 18 holes because we followed a scramble golf tournament. Next time I book a time on golf now.com I will call the course before booking it to see if they have any tournament going on that day. This will save me from being frustrated all day. Other than that, I would definitely play this course again.
