Mt. Woodson Golf Club
Even though I lose a few balls every time I play, I can't wait to go back. I love this place.

great value. great layout
Quality course at a great price. One of the best value on golf now. Little bit of a drive bit worth it.

A beautiful course for great value
My husband and I love this challenging course. It opened in 1927 and has unbelievable picture-postcard views on all 18 holes. There is even an old castle on the grounds. The mature oak trees are awesome. The course has the best value for your fees in the area. Carrie and Jack

NO BALL WASHERS ON THE FRONT NINE
A beautiful, scenic course. There was not bag drop or Bag boys to unload the clubs from the trunk. There were not ball washers on the front nine.

a unique golf experience!
as my friend, a first time visitor here said, it's an E ticket ride! a beautiful golf course with incredible views that will challenge your game. and the staff is beyond wonderful. they even went out of their way to help me find my cell phone that had fallen out of my golf cart on the front 9!

This course was a breath of fresh air!
Took a friend of mine to Mt Woodson and he was blown away by the layout, views, and overall value for money here.
It is quite possible to lose a stack of balls at this course, as the set-up does require genuine accuracy.
I would say that the 1st and 10th are the low points.....with the other holes all being memorable! These days, so many course appear to rely on length, length...and oh, that's right length - the Woodson is different, because although there are a number of opportunities to get the big stick out, using other options of the tee are what it is all about here, and without being silly - 3 wood, Rescue, long irons.
If you haven't played here, then it is well worth the short trip East to Ramona to take it all in!! :)

A huge challenge, but definitely fun
I've been playing a lot lately, at least a lot for me...12 courses in the past 8 weeks.
I had been looking at Mt. Woodson and finality booked it after being told more about it. I went early afternoon on a Thursday and the course was pretty open. About the last four holes I had caught up to the twosome in front of me and eventually just joined them on 18 to finish up.
The course was in great shape even with the rain we had the few days prior. It was definitely challenging though. Huge elevation changes, tons of blind shots, water hazards, tons of trees and sloping greens. You definitely need to play it straight and be able to strategically place your shots on this course.
I would highly recommend this course, especially for those looking for a challenge.
