Very good course layout and design
Layout and design of the course are excellent. Greens were a tad slow the day we played but still very smooth. The ball rolled well as long as you hit it firmly enough. The pace of play was very good. There was enough time between starting groups that we never had to wait much. Overall playing time was around four hours.

Nice views from many of the holes.
Enjoyable round except pace of play was a bit slow so we had to quit after 16. Rangers tried to keep things moving, very friendly.

GREAT COURSE!
GREENS WERE GREAT, FAIRWAYS LET THE BALL SIT UP..TWO THINGS NOT SO GREAT: SOME HOLES HAD DIRT CART PATHS, AND THE ROUGH AROUND SOME OF THE BUNKERS NEAR THE HOLES WAS OVERGROWN AND YOU COULDN'T EVEN FIND YOUR BALL IN SOME OF THEM.

Very pleasant to the eye - all conditions very good.
Escena makes my list of "destination" courses. It has great desert character with not too many bells and whistles.

Awesome course, great value
Perfect conditions, greens a little slow, great price, professional staff. Lacking on the beverage cart service but would definitly play here again

Challenging but fair
The course was in very good condition. Grounds crew were very considerate. Unreasonable Marshall. We played front 9 in under 2 hours and he rudely asked us to pick up our pace. We were never holding anyone up. We never saw the group behind us. Tee time was after daybreak. Absolutely no reason for rudeness.

Very nice course
The regular tees played really well for my 22 handicap. Some strong winds on the first two tees with a 7 am start but then calmed down from then on. Beautiful course conditions. Well worth playing!

A lovely experience - mostly
We thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and challenges of the course, but began our game with a grouchy starter who lectured us on course behaviour and rules. It was his unfriendly delivery that turned us off. Not exactly a fun way to start. The staff in the pro shop & cart staff, however, were friendly and helpful.

Great layout and in great shape
We were the first tee time of the day so pace of play was no issue. The course was in fantastic shape and far exceeded my expectations. I absolutely loved this lay out. The course was challenging, but fair and overall very fun to play. Big bonus...hardly any houses on the course. Slight negative...right next to the airport (depending on who you ask this could be a positive). Also, if the service at the restaurant was as good as the golf, this place would be a 10, but I'll rate it as a 9.

Nice Track
Great public course. All the amenities, not sure on the BarBQue at the 10th hole. All the grasses were great (I am sounding like a broken record after playing 17 courses in the valley over the last 20 days). They had challenging holes and holes that could be had. I would play it again in a heartbeat.

Fun Course
We wanted to play Escena because of positive reviews from acquaintances and yes it's true....Escena is well worth playing. Not too difficult except for the par 3's which are long and well bunkered. The conditions were excellent and the slope is 124 from the orange tees (6615 yds) which is usually makes for a fun round for everyone. Close to the airport is's a nice choice if you're planning to golf immediately after your flight lands. The bar and grill is first class.

Having golf there in previous years, I took a friend out to experience a nice course. He was very impressed with the course, the shape it was in and we had a great day.

Excellent course
The course is in excellent shape. Very good greens and fairways. This course is challenging, yet not so much that you cannot enjoy yourself. I would recommend playing this one.

Wonderfully challenging beautiful coarse
Not only is Escena a awesome golf coarse, it also has a great bar and restaurant...The have great entertainers playing live music thru the week as well. Can't say enough good things about this golf coarse....

Nice course
We had a fantastic time playing this course again. It's fair and extremely well taken care of! The greens were in excellent shape with minor contours. The landing areas off the tees were generous but one needs to be cautious of errant drives. This is a great/user friendly course with nice views of the mountains. Enjoy!

Very slow pace of play 6 hour round
A nice course, but typical of Nicklaus resort designs it's too difficult for most people. Which causes the pace of play to be unreasonable.

Terrific course with an uncommonly good restaurant.
Escena is a terrific course in top condition. The rating and slope from the "middle" tees imply this is an easy course but the rating and slope should be higher. I've played twice now and rank this course as among my favorites in the Palm Springs area. A pleasant surprise is the restaurant which can stand alone as a nice place to dine, with or without golf.

Great track in a superb setting provides a must-do round
We played Escena in the morning under ideal conditions. The staff were inviting, providing everyone with an excellent yardage book that described a very playable Jack Nicklaus design. The track is challenging but very fair from any set of tees – fairways are generous but well-bunkered, greens are graceful and true but well bunkered. The vegetation, planting and water features enhance one's enjoyment of the round and the Grill is an excellent choice for lunch or 19th hole festivities. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this course and would highly recommend it for all levels of player

excellent course!
this course is in excellent condition , plays like a top rate country club. beautiful surrounding mountain provide for breath taking views. moderate to above averege golfer would enjoy this course.

Beautiful vistas and good condition
Day we played the wind was howling and it was 55 degrees. Doesn't make for great golf but club cannot control that. Course was in great shape and in spite of weather it was fun to play.

Great condition, particularly after a day of rain. Course is wide open and could be made a bit more challenging with some trees or more bunkers. Overall, a great experience.
