Blending championship golf with a classic Palm Springs setting, a round at Escena Golf Club is as much about the surroundings as it is about unforgettable golf. The towering San Jacinto mountains and blue desert skies frame the flight of every tee shot. Abundant palm trees, native desert landscaping and dramatic waterscapes add to the sensory feast. A meal or a drink in the stunning mid-century environs of the Escena Grill is a perfect way to round out your day.

Of course, the centerpiece of the Escena experience is its expertly crafted by Nicklaus Design golf course. Unobstructed sightlines and generous driving corridors give you a clear view of how to navigate each hole. Strategically placed bunkers, water hazards and undulating greens are there before you, but at the same time there is ample room for you to decide how much you want to flirt with them. With back tees stretching to nearly 7,200 yards, Escena offers a formidable test for the skilled player, but with four sets of tees and room to roam, how you satisfy your personal appetite for challenge is entirely up to you. Escena has been recognized as a Top Ten Public Course in California by, and was voted the Best Public Golf Course in the 2010 Palm Springs Life “Best of the Best” Reader’s Choice competition.

But Escena is much more than just fantastic golf. The Escena Lounge & Grill transcends what is typically expected of golf club fare. With its delectable food and drink offerings, hip mid-century vibe, spacious indoor/outdoor seating and stunning views of the San Jacinto mountains, the Escena Lounge & Grill has become one of the most popular gathering venues in Palm Springs.

In addition to the golf course and grill, Escena offers a warm-up practice tee, a short game practice area and a putting green. Tournaments and social gatherings can be accommodated in the private dining room or spacious outdoor lawns.

We invite you to experience the golf course that is the talk of Palm Springs.

Scalped but still fun! Had I known the course had just been SCALPED (And were still scalping during our round?) I would have played somewhere else... That being said, I enjoyed the layout and look forward to returning in winter! PROS - Greens were still pretty good (especially for late summer). Tees were OK and not scalped. Lots of water and bunkered well! Staff (Pro-Shop & Cart girl) was very friendly. Yardage book provided. CONS - Yardage markers were hard to find & NO YDS. MARKERS ON PAR 3 TEES. Staff (cart guys & starter) were not good at communication. NO RANGE, Just a very small net/mat area. Near the Palm Sprgs. A.P. runways! September 28, 2014
Great Design. Few Yardage markers. The course itself is great. Loved the bunkering and every hole had its own personality. For some reason they have very few yardage markers which makes it very frustrating unless you have a GPS of your own. There are some markers on fairways but they are grown over. Back 9 much tougher than front really enjoyed the course. Worth every dime even with no yardage markers. September 23, 2014
It was hot. Played the course for the first time and despite the blistering heat the course is in a really good shape and very forgiving. Would have been nice if the cart have GPS, it was a little difficult getting the distance right. The only bad experience is the pace of play, almost 5 1/2 hours to play, not much fun in 100 degree weather. September 22, 2014
Beautiful Course, but poorly scheduled. As always this is one of the better courses I've played in Palm Springs, course layout is wonderful, greens are lush and play very fast. However when I arrived there was a conga line of golf carts waiting at the 1st tee to play. My tee time was for 10:50, didn't end up getting on the 1st hole until 11:20. There was a party of 12 (YES 12) that were all there celebrating a bachelor party. They split the group, and it seemed like 4 out of each group were playing and the other 2 were just riding along, however once we got further away from the clubhouse all 6 were playing!! No Marshall in sight the entire time we played. These guys were extremely inconsiderate, they stopped at a par 3 to fill up on drinks from the drink cart without first teeing off, it wasn't until there was a line of 4 golf carts waiting for that par 3 that they realized they should begin playing again. In all it took us 5 1/2 hours to finish 18!! I won't play here again if this is how they schedule times for the day. September 21, 2014
Better courses in the desert Beautiful property. Everything is brand new in the clubhouse. Excellent taste for decoration. The front nine holes are in good shape except for the bunkers. The sand is full of rocks and debris. The back 9'holes were covered with brown spots , and there is nothing special about them. Staff is friendly. Good beverage cart. The marshall was controlling the pace quite often. We were a foursome and played in 4 hours. They don t have gps so bring your own. They dont give you cups, there is no ice machine, and considering today the temperature was 108 I believe they should accommodate to the location. I am not planning to return, as I expected a more challenging course There are better courses in the area. The price for the round was really cheap. We paid 30 USD for each one of us. Had a great time Took the wife and a buddy and his wife there they are beginners so we very slow let people play thru. The Marshall only told us we needed to speed up once.We had lunch at the lounge food and service was great. September 11, 2014
A Somewhat Hidden Gem I had been meaning to drive out the I-10 to visit Escena for some time. The fairways provide ample landing zones. The bunkering is thoughtful and not overwhelming. The greens were interesting and in superb condition. I would have liked to have seen a couple of shorter par threes. Course conditions are not a deal breaker for me so the few sparse spots on some of the fairways were not a bother---that's what the toe of the club is for anyway. Our threesome was behind a fivesome and we finished in 3:45, so no complaints there. Highly recommended. September 6, 2014
going to be an awesome course when it grows up this is a nice course, it had a few dry spots but considering we played Sept 5th it was expected. Course seems to be in a growth stage, some areas need to grow in and will make it a good challenge. No driving range, just nets, greens were great. Want to play it again maybe when it hasn't been so dry here. September 6, 2014
