Escena Golf Club
Gorgeous course, mountain views, generous fairways, but a real challenge even from the "middle" tees (6100 yds). Some long par 3s, and carry over water on a few holes, with great surface/undulating greens.

Friendly and gorgeously manicured.
We were treated in a very friendly and helpful manner. The condition of the course was excellent and the beauty of the course will let me recommend it to others.

Just the perfect course! Fairways and greens are in awesome condition! Very challenging greens. Breathtaking views. Staff is very friendly and professional. Best course we played in Palm Springs.

Overpriced but fun
Our first time playing Escena. The course and layout were excellent for our game and the course was in great shape. Very fun and playable for all handicaps. The only driving range was into a net which teaches you nothing. We were told the beverage cart was on the course but we never saw it for the first 10 holes. Overall we didn't think the $155 price was justified, but it's a new community and I'm sure they need all the revenue they can get until more houses are occupied.

Over priced for courses you can play in the area
Booked this on golfnow.com and ended up paying $35 more per person than if I had booked the course directly on their website. When I brought this up, I got "Well I guess you should have booked it through us." Not a satisfying answer.
We played our round in 4 hours 15 mins and were asked three times to pick up our speed - there was a threesome behind us - not fun when you are being pressured - golf is hard enough as it is.
Bought a hot dog at the 10th hole BBQ - $7.00 for a bare dog on a bare bun. Poor value for the money.
Would not play this course again.

Awesome scenery at every hole
Worth the journey--near the airport & downtown Palm Springs, friendly staff, good pro shop, interesting course, and great burgers!

Is Escena becoming uncompetitive?
This is a good golf course. The club house is one of the best designs in Palm Springs.
I like playing this course but......it was a very slow pace of play. For the money Escena doesn't have GPS in the carts, water cups and the Marshall's need to be able to enforce a faster pace of play. These are easy things to change. If not the playing experience in comparison to other top courses will make it uncompetitive.

It is a typical Jack Nicklaus designed course with long par 3s over 200 yards and a few short par 4s. The course is in good condition, challenging, but fun to play.
