Blending championship golf with a classic Palm Springs setting, a round at Escena Golf Club is as much about the surroundings as it is about unforgettable golf. The towering San Jacinto mountains and blue desert skies frame the flight of every tee shot. Abundant palm trees, native desert landscaping and dramatic waterscapes add to the sensory feast. A meal or a drink in the stunning mid-century environs of the Escena Grill is a perfect way to round out your day.

Of course, the centerpiece of the Escena experience is its expertly crafted by Nicklaus Design golf course. Unobstructed sightlines and generous driving corridors give you a clear view of how to navigate each hole. Strategically placed bunkers, water hazards and undulating greens are there before you, but at the same time there is ample room for you to decide how much you want to flirt with them. With back tees stretching to nearly 7,200 yards, Escena offers a formidable test for the skilled player, but with four sets of tees and room to roam, how you satisfy your personal appetite for challenge is entirely up to you. Escena has been recognized as a Top Ten Public Course in California by PGATOUR.com, and was voted the Best Public Golf Course in the 2010 Palm Springs Life “Best of the Best” Reader’s Choice competition.

But Escena is much more than just fantastic golf. The Escena Lounge & Grill transcends what is typically expected of golf club fare. With its delectable food and drink offerings, hip mid-century vibe, spacious indoor/outdoor seating and stunning views of the San Jacinto mountains, the Escena Lounge & Grill has become one of the most popular gathering venues in Palm Springs.

In addition to the golf course and grill, Escena offers a warm-up practice tee, a short game practice area and a putting green. Tournaments and social gatherings can be accommodated in the private dining room or spacious outdoor lawns.

We invite you to experience the golf course that is the talk of Palm Springs.

Walk or Ride What a Fantastic Layout, Exceptional Views, and Attracting Nice folks. The reason for the questionable review steams for the time of year and over-seeding, cart path only makes for some very long walks and with an Obnoxiously slow group in front it was even more difficult to walk 30 40 yards to your golf ball only stand and wait for the green or fairway to open up, There was a 3 group hold up on the 2nd hole. The Beautiful Young Lady had refreshments but NO Hotdog Buns, so the hankering for a dog was never satisfied. The Greens, well coming back from over seeding were SLOW and Sticky. The Staff Wonderful, The Layout Awesome, the Playing Partners, Fantastic, I'll be back when it's not cart path only. November 11, 2014
Pace of Play Golf course in good shape however, this time of year November usually means cart path only. This slowed down the pace of play. Staff very informative and knowledge about the course. Will play again. November 10, 2014
Great Course, "Cart path only" NO My wife and I love Escena for years it has been one of our favorite courses in the Palm Springs area. So when we heard it was re-opening from re-seeding on October 31st we decided to make the two hour drive from Orange county to get a round in on pristine new fairways on a Saturday a week later. Now I understand that courses and their greens keeping staff need to be sure that their efforts at re-seeding are getting time enough to take, but that said it had been a month and this was a full 7 days after their initial re-opening. At this point it should have been made clear to patrons that the course was still only allowing cart path only for play prior to one making an expensive tee time. If I am paying a full $100 + per person green fees key issues that may impact a golfers experience should be made known i.e. greens are punched, cart path only, temporary greens, etc. To not disclose this key information until standing on the first tee is just wrong. This combined with the fact that Escena has many holes designed with no real cart path, wide fairways, and no clear yardage markers made the round extremely slow for everyone. Unfortunately, it ended up not the experience we would have hoped for from an otherwise first class golf course. Frankly, while the course was in great shape otherwise, we would have waited to play at a later time had we known we couldn't drive up to our shots. If we were allowed to walk the course it might have been a better experience but this was not allowed from what I could tell. (no walkers). If you are going to rent carts and then restrict them let people know your policy before the round. Then if golfers complain anyway you can at least be able to say, we were told and given a choice. Basic golf course customer service. November 10, 2014
Beautiful course in need of minor adjustments Escena is the newest course in Palm Springs and is beautifully landscaped with too notch conditions. A common complaint is poor yardage markers and rightly so. We played 36 in a day and the second round was $25/player, taxes in. Pretty fair. Great restaurant with quality for for a fair price. Golf here if you can. November 8, 2014
One of the best golf experiences of my life, would definitely play again One of the best golf experiences of my life, would definitely play again November 7, 2014
Good Value Very playable course for mid and high handicappers. Nice layout. Round was slower as carts were restricted to cart path only as course had just opened after winter overseeding. November 6, 2014
The Canadian review The course was great but unfortunately cart path only for the full 18. Just made the 18th before dark. Other than that, we really enjoyed it and will return before we have to go back home to eastern Canada. November 6, 2014
The Starter Two years ago I played and remembered the starter Bob. Great guy hope to see him again next time I'm there. November 5, 2014
