Desert Willow Golf Resort - Mountain View Course
Welcome to Desert Willow Golf Resort, one of the finest public access golf facilities constructed anywhere in recent years. Designed by Michael Hurzdan, (Golf Course Architect of the Year), Dana Frye and PGA Professional, John Cook, Desert Willow's two 18-hole Championship courses offer a challenging yet rewarding experience for golfers of all levels.
Both the Firecliff and Mountain View courses test the character and skill of players regardless of which one of the five sets of tees is selected for play. Lush desert landscaping, panoramic mountain vistas, numerous water features and extensive use of bunkers make a trip to Desert Willow one not soon forgotten.
Developed and owned by the City of Palm Desert, Desert Willow Golf Resort is operated by Kemper Sports Management. When completed, the resort will contain more than 1,000 hotel rooms, convention facilities, 3 championship courses & a 700-unit vacation complex.
Providing a memorable golf experience is the main objective of Desert Willow Golf Resort. From the moment visitors arrive they receive the same level of service associated with many of the finest private clubs in the country. Browse our site to find out more about the spectacular courses, clubhouse facility, meeting and banquet capabilities.
Desert Willow's Clubhouse has emerged as the center of activity for local residents as well as many of the visitors to the Palm Desert area. Numerous corporate golf outings, special functions, banquets, and weddings are scheduled every month as a result of unparalleled service, exceptional quality, and arguably the best scenery in the Coachella Valley. To find out more about the services Desert Willow offers in addition to great golf, visit the Clubhouse portion of our web site, which contains information about our Golf Shop, Restaurants, Meeting Room, Banquets and Weddings.
Opened just 11 short months after Firecliff, Mountain View is designed more as a resort-type course with wider fairways and limited desert waste areas. But appearances can be deceiving, as Mountain View is rated just slightly less difficult than its predecessor.
Somewhat forgiving fairways, 98 well-placed bunkers, sloping greens, and 7 water features require golfers to incorporate their best course management skills to avoid trouble lurking adjacent to virtually every fairways and greens. Toughest hole is #14.
All golf carts at Desert Willow are equipped with a GPS system designed to provide a more enjoyable experience and maintain a desired rate-of-play.

Whether it's a great hamburger off the grill after golf, a 1st Tee Breakfast, an elaborate banquet for 200, or weekend breakfast on the Patio, the food and beverage offered in the Clubhouse dining facilities are outstanding. From Salmon Haida and Penne Pasta to Classic Burgers and Middle Eastern Falafels, the menu selections offered at Desert Willow are not what one expects to find at a golf resort. A true country club experience at a public access resort.
The main dining room is open for breakfast on weekends and lunch seven days a week.
The "Resort" portion of Desert Willow is currently in its planning/construction phase. By mid 2001, Hilton Hotels will have completed the first of two hospitality projects adjacent to the Clubhouse - a 250 Hilton Hotel/convention center complex will be first. The second project, a 750 room Resort hotel, is scheduled to be completed shortly thereafter.
Currently there are two Marriott facilities located in the northeast section of the complex. Marriott Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott.
Desert Willow also has a Resort Vacation facility being developed on-site by Intrawest, one of the largest resort owners/developers in the world. Now in its second phase, Club Intrawest offers a unique and flexible way to enjoy vacations around the world.
With everything from art galleries and theaters to natural attractions, you'll run out of time before running out of things to do in Palm Desert.
NOTE: While every effort has been made to assure accuracy, we advise you to check all information with
the golf course before booking your tee-time or driving to the course.
