Great golfing We enjoyed our day on the course! It was beautiful & the views fantastic! We didn't like the foursome in front of us as they were always a hole or hole & 1/2 behind the group in front of them. The staff was awesome, friendly and accommodating. We will definitely play this course again! August 29, 2014
Eagle Vines, Napa CA This was our first time playing here. we found it to be a beautiful, course in great condition. it is a long course and it can be difficult if you don't stay in the fairway. We had some trouble because we weren't sure where the greens were and the course layout, due to our inexperience with this course. The pace of play was great and the value for the cost was exceptional. The greens are large and were somewhat fast when we [played, definitely a challenge. We will absolutely play here again. Pretty Poison Eagle Vines is a more enjoyable vineyard course than its neighbor, Chardonnay--more visually pleasing and tee to green in terrific shape. The greens in particular, while challenging, are fast and smooth. Elevation changes add to the variety of holes, several of which bring the vineyards into play. That being said, if you're not a precise wind player, you will endure a very long day here. While most fairways are generous enough to your drive, subsequent shots must be managed in a pinpoint fashion. If the water hazards don't get you, the lateral hazards (woods, ravines, creek) guarding a number of greens still lurk. Since I hadn't played here in a very long time, I wasn't familiar with many of the intricacies. No GPS on the carts didn't help. (News flash: not everyone carries a GPS app or range finder. I asked an EV employee about this and he told me that the GPS cost was too expensive. And yet Chardonnay next door has GPS on their carts.) So we didn't appreciate losing three balls between the two of us on the very first hole (after excellent drives) and then being berated by the marshal for holding up the foursome behind us. (After the first hole we were gone with the wind. Literally.) I'm a 9 handicap and lost 5 balls during the round. I don't think I ever lost 5 balls as a 12 year old. Lastly, I don't know if it's Johnny Miller's influence or what, but the approach shots here are highly demanding--at times it felt unnecessarily so. The greens are well -defended by water, woods, bunkers and wind, and are a challenge to putt on---fast, undulating, and sometimes with multiple tiers. All said, the course was in great shape, the staff was friendly (marshal excepted), and the price was right--thanks to GolfNow. August 20, 2014
One of the beauties! Beautiful scenery all around. Course condition is good to great. Had a slow day of it, just under 5 hours. The Marshall attempted to speed things up , but not a whole lot he could do. I really do love the challenge of this course. Recommendation: Play this one! August 17, 2014
Great day Played as a twosome to celebrate my birthday. Course was in excellent shape with very fast, even greens. Pace of play was a little bit slow - but this was a late Saturday morning. Will definitely return! August 17, 2014
Have fun Challenging course , par fours especially, beautiful surrounds, nice layout, good luck August 15, 2014
Greens The greens are in great conditions. It has a lot of slopes, it's fast but good challenge for me. August 11, 2014
Nice layout, well conditioned... ...but but but. The par 3's slow down play miserably. Quit after 12 holes - 3 1/2 hrs. Had a mid morning tee time on Sat, but this was ridiculous. Smooth greens, well kept fairways. Bunkers were light on sand though. Wasn't worth $79 bucks. August 11, 2014
