Very Challenging If you are looking for a challenge, this is the course to consider for your next round. The course has all the distance you are looking for and the tee sets for all skill levels. The course is in excellent condition and the greens roll really well. My advice would be to either play this course during the week or look for the Hot Deal Time on GolfNow.com for the weekends and you'll save a few dollars November 12, 2012
A beautiful setting for golf! Course was in great shape on an early spring morning, one day after serious rain. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were lovely. Expectedly after such a rain, the traps were a bit problematic to escape, but that was more due to me than the heavy sand. The greens are adventurous if you do not hit on the same level or lobe as the pin. An enjoyable course well worth returning to! April 6, 2013
What a great day. Arrived and teed off in the fog. Sun broke through on the first hole and jackets came off on the second. As a single, I was allowed to take some time on the range and they would pair me up. The starter assessed me a second, asked if it was my first time on the course, and placed me with 3 regulars who could not have been better, like members at a private club who wanted you to join. The course was in great shape for April, the greens readable and true, the traps raked and consistent. And best of all, the views. I described it to friends as walking from one post card to another. At $60 bucks, you expect quality. I got it. April 4, 2013
One of Napa's best! I love this course for the challenges and its beauty. I play it whenever I'm in the area. April 4, 2013
Top Notch Excellent layout!! Great course for the money. Conditions were great also. April 3, 2013
Friendly and helpful staff. I had a great time at Eagle Vines. The course was in excellent condition, it was challenging but fair. They have a great clubhouse, friendly staff in the pro shop and restaurant as well as the bar. The starter was amazingly helpful. I couldn't believe the great price that I paid on GolfNow. Could Be Really Good-Pace of Play Kills It Over 5 hours on a Thursday? Are you kidding me? Put it this way. I called the proshop when we were on 11 to send a marshall to speed up play , and they did not. After the round, the starter apologized, and said the marshall called in sick, and they were shorthanded. Enough said. If they speed things up, I would recommend it. The course itself is really good. Challenging, in decent shape for early spring, some good holes. They had just sanded the tees, so that will improve. The only issue I have is that some of the greens are very tricked up. You need to be on the correct tier or you are dead. March 29, 2013
Fun vinyard course. Hard in the wind but fair in the sun. Small tiered greens. We played about a month after they had punched -- still slow with lots of bumps. Good layout, but it was difficult getting the speed on the greens considering the contours and inconsistency of speed. March 28, 2013
A lot of nice holes 5-1/2 hrs. Is unbearble for a weekday (Tuesday). Good interesting holes which makes it fun to play but the slow pace causes you to lose your patience And focus. The on course personnel need to be on top of it before it gets so bad. Wind can be a big factor. March 27, 2013
Beautiful golf course in wine country, especially in the morning when the sun rises Hard to believe.... I get to the golf course early in the morning and headed to the putting green. The marshal and I started talking. As we talked I found out that eagle vines only punched there greens 3 weeks prior. To anyone who knows or understands its ridiculous to pay $80 bucks while playing on airated greens. Long story short, the golf course was in impeccable shape. Although punched 3 weeks prior the greens were fast and true. Could never tell they were touched. Whether it was the the pro shop or restuarant the staff was very nice and accommodating. Can't wait to play here again March 24, 2013
The course is in good condition. The pace of play on Saturday was very slow. We played only 12 holes in 4 hours. We decided to call it a day since we did not want a 5 1/2 to 6 hour round. Way to long of a golf experience for my wife. March 24, 2013
Too expensive The course was fun except for recent maintenance issues. Tee boxes were sand traps and greens still a little bumpy after recent aeration. However, very disappointed that there was a "irons only" driving range. Nearly 100 dollars for a glorified chipping range. One other suggestion, play later in the grape growing season. Water levels were low and vines were all empty, making what should have been a beautiful course looking kinda dead and sparse. March 24, 2013
Forgiving and challenging Well maintained, staff was cool helped me pick which tees to play, I played member I'm a 12 index it worked out well, and they gave me a yardage book since I mentioned it was my first time. Grass was green everywhere it should be and greens were challenging with all the slopes. I definitely would play again. March 23, 2013
Dont play this course. This course was in terrible condition. The tee boxes had about 3 inches of sand on it. The water hazards looked like there was an oil spill in each one of them. The staff didnt happen to mention the course was in lousy shape at best when we were paying for our match or we would have gone to Chardonay golf course just a mile away! March 21, 2013
Enjoy the layout of the holes. Pace of play was a little slower than normal. Fairs good but edges need attention. Greens a little dry. Always enjoy the challenge of this cource. March 19, 2013
Overbooked - 5:45 round The course is really unique and quite enjoyable. I played on a Saturday scheduled for 1:28. We were delayed by the started for over 30 minutes. We were a threesome that was paired with a single, then they took the single and paired him up with a twosome and another single. We were delayed at least 5 minutes on any given shot. At the fourth teebox there were 4 foursomes lined up to hit. I understand that it is Napa and a wine and golf destination, but there is no way they should have scheduled this many golfers going out. The course is a nice layout, a little short which I didn't mind. They really need more water on this course and could use some weed abatement as well. The greens were very stiff and bumpy given the fact that it was early March. The staff was nice to me, but I did overhear the attendant telling the guy in front of me that he was misinformed not less than 4 different times. I would play here again, but never on a weekend. March 18, 2013
Always excellent experience Course still struggling from winter conditions, but better than many others. Play a little slow, but it was a Sunday. EV always our pick for one of best experiences overall in north bay. March 18, 2013
The course is not currently up to its own standards. The fairways need attention. Was in two sand traps. The first the sand was prestine, the second the sand was hard and packed. The greens had been recently sanded, there were still plug holes. I'm sure the course will be in great condition soon, but for now, the price's charged, I expected a better course at this time. I will come back, but when the course is in better condition. All the people there were very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. March 12, 2013
This course has a challenging layout. Course is now one of my top 5 in Sonoma Co. Except we played at the wrong time. The greens were airriated we did not no that at the time. Looking foreword to play again when the greens are in normal condition. Hopefully Golf Now.Com will continue to list this course on there app. March 5, 2013
nice course in good condition. nice layout, good conditions, always a favorite course in that area. February 23, 2013
great couse just plays long had a good day. a bit windy in afternoon. Greens could have been in better shape on a few holes. February 21, 2013
Great course, horribly mismanaged We left after the 15th hole when we hit the 5 hour mark. They stack the tee times too close, and the marshals are window dressing. The problem is that it's difficult course that because of the low prices attracts too many players of different ability levels, and no effort is made by the marshals on the course to teach some of these players how to play quickly. Either raise prices to thin out play (the course would still make it's $), or have marshals trained to really help the pace of play by educating golfers (e.g. don't spend 5 minutes per hole looking for balls in the hazards as if it was the US Open - drop and play on - 5 x 18 = 90 minutes!). Will never play another weekend round at Eagle Vines. February 18, 2013
brutal pace of play, 7 hours, absolutely awful. pace of play was the worst i have experienced. it tood 7 hours and we had to play the front 9 twice just to even get 17 holes in, brutal. February 16, 2013
This is always a challenging track. Greens were what you might expect for winter - a bit bumpy. A couple of traps could use some more sand. All in all this is a course well worth playing and I will be back! February 15, 2013
Its a great course just too many golfers from out of area. Always a 5 hour round even on Monday. Greens were not good at all. They did finally get new carts. Before the carts would run out of power constantly. The greens make it not worth getting on in 2 or 3. Very shaggy. February 14, 2013
Due to extreme slowness of play, hard to give a rating This is whay golf gets a bad rap - over 5+hrs and only able to play 17 holes- to many groups - each hole was backed up 2 - 3 groups waiting-same on tee box's we could see forward. No marshall to help with problem. Course office was closed when we came in - so no one to complain too. February 11, 2013
Nice course Need air Gun for clean golf shoes and GPS for golf course February 1, 2013
Play in season for beauty of landscape Good variety of holes , played long due to wind. Greens in great shape. Need guide for some holes due to blind t shots and to let you know best position to be at off the t box I am guessing no marshal was there because we were out of season but it was a brutally long round, that is the reason for a '3' rating v. '4' January 29, 2013
This course has great features. Always a great course.Everything was perfect. For the price I paid, this was an exceptional outing.Perfect winter day. January 29, 2013
Course knowledge required, but very nice layout Lots of water and lots of vineyards, but a great layout. Big fairways, tough approaches. Driving range is lousy, but course is in good shape, even in winter. January 28, 2013
