A great course when it is not windy The first time we played this course, on 4/2/2014, we should have received a refund as the wind made any semblance of a round of golf - totally absurd. If it is windy, I would ask for a rain/wind-check. The course is interesting, extremely well maintained and filled with bunkers from tee to green on every hole. Excellent greens with great rolls but difficult to read. The wind coming off the surrounding mountains can change your shots dramatically. One of our foursome members felt this course was more difficult than PGA West Stadium course. The condition of this course, the design and level of difficulty could make it my favorite course in La Quinta. It's really that much fun, while offering even the single digit handicap a true test of the game. April 10, 2014
Blustery day in the desert First time playing Silver Rock. Not much of a club house, but great practice facility and a genuine test from the back. Not many lay-down holes , but a very intriguing layout. Pretty small greens for such a long track. Price was pretty reasonable for the afternoon times. I'd do it again. April 8, 2014
Unique experience This is an interesting desert course, unique in that it borders the mountains and can bring them into play. You'll use most of your clubs if you pick the right tee box-play it longer than you might ordinarily play. Greens were in excellent condition for a public course. Make sure you're handy with your sand wedge. Love that it's on the desert and not in a residential development. Scenery is awesome. My only knock is that it's so far from Palm Springs. April 8, 2014

this course is real nice This course looks good is well maintained and plays even better April 3, 2014
Amazing morning views and challenging course The staff was helpful and friendly. The clubhouse is small and outdated but I heard rumor of a new one in the works. The practice range was one of the nicest I've ever used. Very organized starter and very helpful. My first time. It really helped to play with someone that had been there before. I'm an 8 handicap and played from the golds which actually helped stay out of some of the fairway trouble. Lots of sand and water but in fantastic condition! Greens were firm but a lot of fun. The GPS system and carts were excellent. The views are incredible. I will be back for sure! April 1, 2014
Great Track Just a great course and enjoy it every time I play it. Nice to see mountain sheep on the course and they let us take pictures. The course is in great shape and would definitely recommend to play. April 1, 2014
