Beautful course - well manicured. Very challenging to whatever skill level Loved this course. Great value for the money. Very scenic and in excellent shape. Good pace to the entire round April 7, 2013
Very nice but challenging course. A very nice course. The course was very challenging, especially with the way the wind was blowing. The two golfers that were playing with us moved up with me to the white tees after several holes because it was very tough from the blue and gold tees. Great holes with lots of sand and water placed in very challenging positions. Would love to play on a calm day. Through golfnow I paid $65, much better than the rack rate. April 6, 2013
The course has some very beautiful holes that challenge all skill levels. Had a great time golfing this course, the course was in great condition and has very friendly staff. Was nice to golf a PGA course and say that I golfed where the pro's golfed. So much nicer to see the course in person then watching it on TV. Would golf here again if I got a good deal. April 5, 2013
Challenge the "Rock" if you wish to also challenge your game. SiverRock is always in fine shape. One must, above all else, drive the ball well in order to not succumb to the mischief that is everywhere. And even at that, the next shots require no less precision. There are seven sets of tee options (including the blue-white hybrid). On your first visit, bite off less than you can chew in order to retain your sanity and level of pleasure. Scenery is spectacular, of course. The high water mark on the mountains bordering the course indicate the kind of water hazard the ancients must have faced. A wonderful mix of fun and misery. One of the best in the Valley Got an early morning tee time, big reduction in price. This course is tough, will make you think before choosing which club you need to hit. The views are stunning. April 3, 2013
Challenging yet fun course Nice challenging course. Need to play a few times to understand hole layout and play selection. There are a few "blind" holes that make it difficult to play the first time and know which club or position of drive. Cart GPS does give a warning but does not provide a hint as to the aiming point (or a risk-reward option). April 3, 2013
A must play! A fun course that was in great condition and had great mountain views. April 1, 2013
Wonderful Golf Course I would recommend you playing this wonderful track. April 1, 2013
This is a must play course in the Palm Springs, CA area Excellent fairways, great greens, fun course that everyone should experience when in the Palm Springs/La Quinta area. Look for deals on this course as they are out there and you will not be disappointed. April 1, 2013
Still very nice First time playing this course in a couple of years. We did notice that the greens were not as nice as previous visits. There are not many people repairing ball marks and they are pretty dinged up. Also, the fairway divots are not being filled by the player. I would give the greens a "D", they need attention. Staff is nice. Food is good, a different menu than before- more selections. Maybe since the course in not in the Humana rotation anymore it is not getting the attention it once did. March 30, 2013
Excellent course One of the best courses in the area, the people are very helpful & friendly. The course is in a very good condition, the greens are a little worn but considering it was at the end of the season they are a lot better than most courses. The regular price is $165.00, we played twilight & got an excellent deal ($80.00), I would play it again for that price. March 30, 2013
Course was in good shape though you could see a couple of greens had had some damage that was being rectified. Overall, a good experience Course was beautiful, like walking into a postcard. There had been some problems with damaged greens but obviously steps had been taken to improve them. The damaged areas never came into play. I found the bunkers tough to get out of as did other members of my group. Overall, a good golf experience. March 27, 2013
The course is in excellent shape especially the fairways. Never played a course where the fairways were so thick and lush. Very enjoyable course. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The course, challenging and in great shape. I would recommend Silver Rock to anyone with at least intermediate skills. March 22, 2013
My wife had a hole in one on #8 Nice golf course but the round was greatly diminished by the awful pace of play. 4 hours and 50 minutes is not acceptable. I might try the course again but If the pace of play wasn't substantially better, I would not play Silver Rock again! March 19, 2013
A great golf experience This was the second time we have played this course. It is an absolute gem. It has 5 tees to challenge any golfer, amazing views and is manicured beautifully. We will definitely play this course again. March 19, 2013
Challenging but fair course, a great test of all parts of your game Not a course that you get to make a lot of mistakes on, any errors in course management, club selection or attempts to just over power the course will show up on the score card, although you should take too many penalties, you'll pile on the strokes with poor choices. Requires a thinking approach, or a lot of rounds to get around. Terrific shape and we got it on a day with no wind, thankfully. March 17, 2013
Amazing condition and very challenging! We were the first tee time of the day so pace of play was no issue. Despite the fact the the clubhouse wasn't open when we arrived, the staff that was present was extremely friendly and accommodating. They were rigorous in enforcing pace of play, something I really appreciate. The course itself has to be one of the best maintained courses I've played in the Palm Springs area. It's also one of the tougher layouts I've played. No hacks should come to SilverRock because you'll probably get really frustrated. I would play this course over and over again and never get bored. Also, the restaurant had decent food and good service. All in all...if you're deciding on a course to play on your Palm Springs vacation, make this the one! March 15, 2013
awesome my favorite course in the palm springs valley. good challange and love the 12th hole 625 yds from the golds. love all the holes, well laid out and a good test on large greens. March 15, 2013
Would have been five stars but for the slow group ahead... Most beautiful course i have ever played. Great condition. Challenging but fair. Lots of bunkers and water hazards. Bighorn sheep on the mountain nearby came to visit. Would be five stars but for the slow group ahead who refused to hurry and would not abide a play through group. March 14, 2013
Challenging golf course This is a very long and extremely challenging golf course. From the tips, it is 7800 yds. (way way too long for me). The approaches to the greens are the difficulty. One must be on their game to play well here. The score card does recommend mixing the blue and white tees, which was good. Beware the 17th hole, as it is a brute. March 14, 2013
best course so far We have played a few of the less expensive courses already but were very pleased with our decision to try a round here. The entire complex was impressive. The practice range was great, could work on all aspects of the game. The clubhouse menu was also very good, we were pleased with our meal and it was reasonably priced too. The course itself was very nice. The various tees would change one's game each round. The greens and fairways were in great shape and was challenging. I want to go back now that I've played the course. Their GPS was invaluable. March 14, 2013
Beautiful scenery Great Course...best we have played here. Most well manicured and the service was terrific. March 12, 2013
Slow round Very generous fairways makes it fun. You will need to have your approach shots down to challenging green complexes and a well bunkered course. I like the feeling of being able to grip and rip off the tee and the need for shot-making from the fairway. I saw a hole n one go in the jar on the beautiful number 8 green with the big rock back drop. The par 3 17th on the back is as good a hole as you will find anywhere in golf. March 7, 2013
Top 3 in La Quinta Very Very challenging course. Played the Gold Tees, 7100 yds. Pace was slow just because the wind gusts would hit every once in a while. I actually saw a flag stick on the ground it was so windy. The marshall was not very friendly. Me and my buddy are single handicaps, but were paired with 2 ladies that have been retired for a while. So we were 150+ yards ahead on tee shots and would take them 3 swings to reach our initial tee shot. We tried to explain and he followed us for 2 hotels and once he saw we were not "hackers" he left us alone. It is still a must play!! March 6, 2013
Beautiful, great condition, challenging Staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful course in great condition. Lots of tee box options (yardages) for different levels of players. Challenging, yet fair. March 6, 2013
Great golf curse. One of the best in the area Superb golf course. Don't miss this one if you are in the area. March 5, 2013
Silver Rock This is a very beautiful and playable golf course. You can back it up to 7500 yards if you need more challenge. Good condition and fun holes. Beautiful views of the hills which is right up against. March 5, 2013
Disappointed Of all the gold courses I booked for our group this week, this was the hardest to find a deal for, thus our expectations were somewhat high. The layout is fantastic and the scenery is much like LaQunita in that it is right up against the mountains. In saying this, it is also importnat to emphasize that the sun goes down behind the mountain much earlier so it gets cool pretty fast. They pour out a lot of golfers and the greens are horrible, much like playing the worst public course in whatever city you live in. The bunkers have very little sand in them so getting out has to be played with a different adjustment. As I said, it is an amazing layout, but far too expensive for the way they keep this course. A new greenskeeper or General manager might be a cure for these significant flaws. March 5, 2013
Very nice and challenging course but marshalls push too much. Nice course, Only negative comment is the marshalls push people too much and constantly are watching which does not lend to a relaxing day on the golf course. I like to play fast but with a course with so much trouble and not knowing the course the marshalls need to back off some. A 4 1/2 hour round should be a good pace for this course. We finished in 4 hours but the marshalls ( fat boy) started pushing us on the third hole and we felt pushed all day. Starter did not start us until the group in front of us was already on the green and it wasn't because we were late to the tee. We are paying big bucks to play on vacation so we should not have to feel pushed so much. Other than that, great golf course. Pro shop and cart staff good. March 4, 2013
Very disappointing I played this course 4 times last winter and it was one of my favorites in this area. Unfortunately this year I found the course to be in need of repair, the greens in particular, and the 5 hour and 15 minute round was brutal. Unless things change a lot, it won't be on my list next season. March 4, 2013
