Rated as on of the "Top 100 Courses in the World" by GOLF MAGAZINE and 4th toughest course in America in Golf Digest's "Top 50 Toughest Courses in America (2007)," there may be no greater challenege or excitement in the game of golf than the Stadium at PGA WEST! The world famous Stadium is one of Pete Dye's finest course creations, delivering multiple adrenaline rushes throughout the round. A "must play" for all golfers, but no the faint of heart. Host to PGA TOUR "Q-School" Finals every other year, PGA TOUR hopefuls must steady their nerves to navigate the island green of hole #17, known as Alcatraz. Imagine yourself as one of them, needing to make par on the menacing water-lined 18th hole to earn the coveted PGA TOUR card!

Named "Stadium" due to Dye's successful efforts of sculpting spectator seating into the natural terrain along fairways and surrounding the greens, many great moments in golf history have occurred here, including Lee Trevino's unforgettable hole-in-one on Alcatraz. This aced him the win of a huge carry-over Skin worth $175,000 in the 1987 made-for-TV "Skin's Game" hosted by PGA WEST from 1986 through 1991. With five sets of tees, the Stadium lures all skill levels and final scores should be measured by laughs and awe-inspiring moments, not by numbers on a scorecard.

you.get your money worth The greens were on the slow side. Must hit fairways. The rough was rough. Must hit fairways August 11, 2014
great staff, challenging course One of the best in the valley. If you're looking for an easy golf course that won't challenge you then move on, but if you're up for a test at a great course i would recommend to all. Just make sure you play the right tees based on the handicap on the scorecard, it will make your time more enjoyable! August 8, 2014
tough course but still a great place to play. Tee to green is a challenge. But greens are rewarding. Course was in great shape. August 6, 2014
stadium bites hard it is just too hard of a course for a 56 year old to play from the blue tees. the rough is so deep you loose your ball standing next to it. if not on the fairway forget it and severity of the course makes it unenjoyable for most older golfers. the greens currently are so slow you have to putt harder than your comfort zone. making a par is a real feat. facilities are outstanding but dont eat or drink there. too expensive and the food was horrible. pro shop staff very nice, bartender has not a clue should be replaced over served a group of drunks and made the rest of the customers uneasy.good thing fees are cheap as i cant imagine paying $100+ for this. Excellent layout. Plenty of challenge Spending three days in the desert and playing a variety of courses here. PGA West is a great complex with a large and well-stocked pro shop. The Stadium Course is on Golf Digest's Top 100 list, which was why I chose to play here first. It's easy to see why it makes that list. Layout is great, plenty of hazards, bunkers, rough, and even water. It was an excellent challenge and worth the modest off-season green fees. July 24, 2014
Pleasantly surprised While we played in the middle of July, it was still a wonderful day. The course provided plenty of opportunities to score, you do still have to make the shots! Don't be intimidated by what you read, play it! Enjoy the views! July 23, 2014
Very challenging course I was looking forward to playing this course. The course layout is amazing. Undulations in the fairways and greens. Sand and grass bunkers and water protects the greens. It is a very enjoyable and challenging course. A must play. Some comments about the course: 1. Avoid playing in July. Greens were aerated and recovering but it would have been nice to putt on a nice putting surface. 2. Playing in July is extremely hot. There is people who drive around with water, but honestly, they hardly stop unless you flag them down. I believe they should have come up to us and asked us if we needed water. 3. Clubhouse was amazing. July 22, 2014
