PGA WEST® - TPC Stadium Course
A very hot round, but survived
Stadium is a great challenge and this was my 2nd time playing it. If you can avoid the trouble (traps), it can be a rewarding and fun round, as I survived in 113* heat and played very well that day. The staff was great as I got out a little earlier than my time and played solo until I joined a couple on #13. I finished in about 3.5 hours, which was nice. The only area for improvement was the greens, as they were a little shaggy and not as quick or smooth as I remembered from the last time. Nothing like Chambers Bay though...ha ha...

Every Hole Interesting
So many courses have a handful of good holes the rest of the holes nothing special . At the stadium every hole is strong and different. If you play the tees which match your ability the day will be even more enjoyable . The fairways are pretty forgiving it is the shots into the greens that get tough . Not that you can be wild off the tee but not too many places to lose a ball or hit it ob . Despite a few weeks of 100 degree weather early in the year the conditions were excellent . Should be good to see the pros back in January

first year in a few years to play the stadium course during my annual trip to palm springs in June. I was hesitant because the last three times (3 - 5 years ago) the course was in bad shape and I felt it was relying on its famous reputation. I was extremely happy to se the course was in great shape even though the temps were 110+ degrees all week. The course was a great challenge and fun to play.

I booked the night before. It was super hot 114 degrees but course was in great shape. The Stadium is always a challenge but if you're up for it you will have a great time. Staff and facilities are top notch!

Stadium among the best
Small wonder that the Stadium is a TPC course. It is in the top five in the Valley, without question, both in design and condition. I've played a few Pete Dye courses, and this may be his best. So many courses in Palm Springs are so good, but a persistent problem is the way the surrounding homes encroach claustrophobically into the course designs. Not so TPC Stadium at PGA West. The houses are there on the periphery, but they're not cramping the course. It's a welcome relief. Also, Dye has put giant swales around the greens, making a good short game imperative if you have any hope of scoring well. The greens were in superb condition, despite the 107-degree temperature.

You will be very lucky if you don't have to play out of a bunker.T
This is a true test of all your golf skills. Play a smart round of golf and it will reward your total 18 hole score. Before you tee off go to a practice sand trap and hit high explosion shots, your going to need that shot.

The course was excellent, I was amazed with the great design, it was as good as I have read about, glad I played it once in my life.
