Great course - had a great deal too
Very beautiful and challenging course. The only thing that was missing was either a map, diagram, or gps. As a first time player you weren't entirely sure where the hole was. Other than that - absolutely perfect.

Nice course of average value
The course is nicely designed, has some fun and challenging holes, and fits well in its desert setting, but doesn't quite live up to its potential. Lots and lots of divot marks in the fairways. Sand traps were of uneven quality, as were the greens. A couple of fairways showed water damage that appears related to poor drainage. One bunker was either a nearly empty water hazard or a partially submerged sand trap (couldn't tell what it was supposed to be). On a full Saturday morning, the beverage cart showed up 1 time. The staff seemed preoccupied with other things when I arrived, didn't put my bag on a cart, pointed me to a beat-up cart and then shrugged it off when I asked for a nicer cart. Maybe the staff was just having a bad day. The course is worth another visit to give them another chance.

Links style course with good variety of holes.
I played the North course. Without a doubt one of the best bargains I have ever booked on Golfnow. This course is in excellent condition with a great variety of holes. Some of the par 3's are stunning expecially number 15. I strongly recommend this course and look forward to playing it again many times. BTW try to avoid the bushes....they eat golf balls lol.

A Joy I Played Twice
A good track, challenging but when in shape awesome.. A challenge when you dont know the course, a delight I'm sure when you know where to go. I shaved 6 strokes the second round. Greens were great, watch out for the bee's.

Don't belive the negative reviews
Don't base your decision on to play or not to play this course on the negative reviews. Played it yesterday and was in great shape, plenty of sand and no dead spots. Greens rolled great and for the valley the north corse is absolutely one of the best values in high season golf... .Really great golf course in my humble opinion.

Good from a far, but far from good
I played as a single on the North course on a weekday early morning. I booked on GolfNow for $50.
Pros: Course design is challenging and visually appealing. The $50 price is tough to beat, but requires some time and day flexibility. Normal GolfNow prices are closer to $90. The staff was friendly, which is a change from the past. The pace of play was good and we never saw a marshall. Could be different if later in the day. Nice club house and pro shop.
Cons: BALL MARKS. It seemed that nobody ever fixed their ball marks. There was a short par four that had a ton of bare patches on the fairway. I played a few years ago here and it was the same thing. They haven't figured out how to grow or keep grass on this particular hole. The coolers on the golf carts were in tatters. More than a few bits of trash in the dessert areas off the fairways. Not a big deal, but it sent a message about the general condition of the course.
Summary: Great and challenging layout but it appears that the recession and the relatively far out location have resulted in average conditions. If conditions were better this course would be worth $100 or more. For a last minute $50 round, it was a good deal.

hall engine layouts
bunkers need lots of work. green side are more dirt than sand.Fairway bunkers should be ground under repair on some holes.. Course is good for the price, but not great. I liked the variety of holes and the layout in general. I would come back again.

This course needs some help.
While the staff was excellent, I found this course frustrating to play. There were soggy spots, bare spots, and I don't think that the rough around the greens has been mowedin weeks. My biggest concern, however, is a lack of signang. No course layout were available by the tee, none on the scorecard, and no GPS on the carts and many sprinkler heads were unmarked. Some combination of these would be helpful to first time players don't know the course.

Worst course in the valley so far.
Bunkers are rock, fairways have dead spots not worth the money. Went in to the restaurant for a bite and a cool one, told they stopped serving food at 3:00 PM so we left. Won't. be back!!

good course but does need work on some fairways
We got this course for $55 so it was a good deal, however rack rate is overpriced. Has some challenging holes with nice views. Greens were good with some challenging hole locations but a bit bumpy. Just a quick shout out to the starter yesterday on the south course. We had him on the north the other day as well and he is a super friendly guy and that is always nice to start your day.

Course was in great shape
Booked my tee time on Golfnow for the North course, pro-shop had the reservation when I got there. The guys in the pro-shop were nice and helpful when I told them it was my first time there. Great conditions for golf, there is a sign warning about wind, but I think its up all year because there was none to speak of on this day. Course was fun to play, really challenging if its your first time. I arrived at the starter early and the first tee was empty with no one waiting to tee off, so I asked if I could go early by myself. The starter told me no and put me with a 3 some that came a few minuets later. Right before we teed off, the starter let a single go in front of us, really? I ended up with a 5hr round, not cool. That was the only black mark on an otherwise good time.

Forgot how nice the North course is
Great round ..no wind, fast paced, course in good condition, Greens not overly fast but true.
Some earlier comments about poor/no sand in bunkers ...must have been talking about 'waste bunkers' as sand in greenside bunkers were fine. Don't expect sand in waste bunkers

Great visual features from the tee boxes
All but two holes on the course excellent , need fairway repair on those two. Very interesting layout . Right in the desert saw lots of wildlife. Will add to my courses to play when in the area.

Challenging course, with great greens.
This course has some tight fairways and lots of sand, the sand bunkers could use more care as they are like cement and have not been cared for. the greens are fast and furious but fair, overall fun to play.

Challenging, with some target golf holes. Sand bunkers are good and fair.
Excellent golf course! My only complaint is there isn't much drinking water out on the course. Although they do provide one bottle per person and ice in the cooler, it only lasts for about 2 holes for me.

Poor condition!
The poorest condition in the valley. Poor drainage through the green. Pock marked and rough greens. Dirt and irregular bunkers.

This course is in need of some serious maintenance
Tees and greens in poor shape, even for time of year; several fairways short of any grass (e.g. #9); carts had bald tires, ripped seats and coolers with frayed liners. As for playability, there are a number of blind shots into the greens, which became annoying as the game progressed. Won't play it again.

Great twilight rates
Took advantage of really good late afternoon rate ($17 @ 2:28!) and got 17 holes in before it got too dark. Greens are quick with some challenging breaks. Lots of interesting & challenging holes where some course knowledge would have helped with club selection & direction. We were given cart with no cooler or divot mix which was not great, and our twosome was held up for a few holes by a slow foursome, but otherwise a good expedience.

the course was so nice I did not want it to end the tees were nice fairways were nice oh and the greens were sweet I played in the after noon and still got 18 holes in. im going back as soon as I can the staff are nice and treat every one the same

Excellent condition
This could be a bias review, however the course was in overall great condition, the fairways were well kept, divots repaired. Greens were in better than average condition, again with most most divots repaired. The 13th is a 172yd par 3 from whites- where I recorded my first ace ever (hence the potential bias on the course).

An Unexpected Surprise
An unexpected surprise. Tremendous (could be treacherous) layout set back in what could be a gravel pit in Indio. Some very clever hole designs and all greens complexes are appealing.

nice course fun to play great scenery- out in desert. Not playing through homes.
I play here every time I come to the desert. No houses on course ( mostly) Greens a bit pitty but true. 4 out 5.

golf course ok. 8th fairway totally destroyed.
probably worst experience i have ever had while trying to get on the course. the starter at the pro shop had no idea what was going on. a mini tournament had 10 or 15 carts parked and not available for use for over an hour. no carts were available for us when we arrived. pace of play is at least 5 hours, so you have to pack a lunch or dinner when you go.

Challenging Round of Golf!!!
We just drove in from the Las vegas AIrport, and wanted to get a few holes of golf in. We found a great rate at Golfnow for the afternoon round , and in spite of wind warning headed on out. The course was busy, but not crowed. Great shape and beautiful layout. Only problem, was the wind. We should have known that when they have a sign at the check in counter about no wind checks, that it was going to be windy. Even with the wind, we had a great time. The staff was friendly and helpful. When the course slowed up a little the marshal moved us to a different hole to keep us moving. They have two courses and are both fun, with the north being a little nicer.

Running on the cheap
Not enough carts. Could not get a cart until 2 minutes prior to tee time. Hassle waiting for a shuttle to take us to the range, then waiting to be picked up at the range. Starters were frustrated, therefore not friendly. Pushing everyone, but no one could get a cart to get to the first tee, thus everyone late. The other twosome missed the first hole and had to catch up on the second tee box. They were unhappy campers, and they had paid $115 p/person!

Great layout, lots of variety
I liked the course and it was in pretty good shape. Lots of ball marks and a bit bumpy, but it was clear the folks who play there left their ball mark repair tools in the bag, or at home. The greens were in very good shape otherwise. Staff was very professional, helpful and courteous. Take your GPS, it might save you a stroke or two. I'll go back!
