That's because Sierra Lakes' 18 holes, designed by renowned architect Ted Robinson, have been laid out to take full advantage of the site at the foot of the San Bernardino Mountains in Fontana.

Since its opening in 2000, Sierra Lakes has set a new standard of excellence for public courses in the area. At the club, daily-fee golfers have come to expect outstanding service, meticulous conditions and a challenging round every time they come to spend the day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Super Windy Time on a Good Course As a prelude to a upcoming tournament, our usual foursome pre-played the course - but caught it on a very, very windy day. But we actually lost more strokes to tough pin positions on sneaky quick greens than the weather. The fairways and greens were in superb shape. Driving lanes were open so you could attack several holes from multiple places. We shot over our normal scores but just had a fantastic, fun time. We'll be back for more! November 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very well maintained fairways Course was in excellent shape! Couple of tee boxes were a little tore up with divots but fairways and greens were outstanding. Fun course with some great holes with personality. POP was adequate considering afternoon play. Started as a twosome and ended up a foursome the last 4 holes with the twosome behind us. Nice guys and enjoyed finishing up the game with them. Will definitely recommend and play again. October 27, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by SAD Tee'd-off-at-2pm-as a twosome They-put-us-behind-a-fivesome Took-2 & 1/2 hours-for 9-holes Pace-was-miserable Not-enough-time-to-finish-before-dark So-much-waiting-on-the-course, So-we-quit-after-the nine Not-much-fun October 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Umass 1998 The course was in excellent shape, the greens where great to putt. The pace was awesome while I was playing in a twosome that was moving at a good pace. The marshall was good and keep the 11-15 minute a hole rule going. October 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Outing! Course is well-groomed. Can't complain for the money I spent. However, the speed of the play were something to consider. I didn't see any marshals to control the pace of the play. Place is little windy but really enjoyed the day. October 19, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy unless it's windy It can get pretty windy in Fontana and if you happen to be golfing on a windy day at Sierra lakes it can make a 344 yard hole feel like its 460 yards long. If the winds not blowing then this course is probably an easy layout with only about 3 challenging holes. I hit 3 wood off the tee for about 5 holes (on a non-windy day) and still have less than 120 left. This is a course I like to take my beginner friends to because if you spray it a little bit the fairways are wide enough where you may still be okay. with that said all that changes on a windy day and this becomes a REALLY TOUGH course to play. Food's not good, don't come here for a meal. October 10, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Golf in Fontana??? Shocking!! This course is the cousin of Tustin Ranch GC at a fraction of the cost! Play it!! I was really skeptical about playing here. A good golf course in Fontana, really? Yes!! I had some time in the afternoon on a weekday and decided to squeeze in 18 with a buddy. It was windier than I would have liked, but other than that I was really surprised at how green and lush it was. I mean we're in a drought and every other course is crying about water and drying everything out. Some courses are intentionally killing off areas with grass, but Sierra Lakes is alive and well. The bunkers were not good. Like hitting off concrete in some of them. Despite that the rest of the course is pretty nice. I will definitely be playing here again, although I've been told not to bother on the weekends, it gets too crowded and pace of play goes down the toilet. October 9, 2015
