In the best shape I have seen it in 5+ years
The course went downhill years back when it changed ownership but has consistently gotten better. 2 days ago the grass was a little long both fairways and greens but in perfect condition, and the green still rolled true. Hardly any ball marks. Best value in VTA county. Fired a 76 from the blues and had a great time

This course is well worth the GolfNow price.
The course is in excellent condition from tee box to green!!! Will definitely play here again very soon.

Can be tough for a first-timer to the course
Course was nice and kept in good condition (even though greens were recently aerated). However, many fairways had large portions of landing areas roped off and had to move many ropes to get to your ball. Also, being our first time at the course, it was difficult to find the beginning of the course and the marshal initially was not of much help. But things sorted out and had a pretty good day of golf. Nice course but glad I got a hot deal to play. Don't know if I'd pay regular green fees for this course.

Fairway Rope-a-dope?
I'm not sure what the reason is for having the fairways roped off to cart travel but it slows play down and is not an inviting feature.

Fun course that won't kill you.
Fairly wide fairways with trouble clearly in front of you. Greens look faster than they are. Good value.

Nice Track
Nice track... I think they should have a Marshall, it was obvious some of the players within eyeshot are not accustomed to nicer courses... slamming a putter on the green when missing a putt, blasting 4+ times out of the sand when missing a bunker shot then not raking. But all in all, staff was great, conditions were good, greens a bit slow. Views were very nice, adding to the experience.

course has coots, but not on greens
enjoy the verity. however they offered lower fees because off their senior rate. Maybe you should offer a senior rate or discount to seniors. LWA

Overall good experience
I would recommend this course for people looking for a different option outside central LA. Rate of play was surprisingly good and much better than courses around LA today. Course was in good condition and greens are fantastic.

Good course, Great location
We had a lot of fun on Tuesday... the pace of play was a little slow, but the weather was beautiful, and the putting surfaces were quick and smooth. Some of the fairways needed attention, and on a few of the teeboxes it was a STRUGGLE to find a flat spot to put your tee in the ground, but overall it is a great course for $40!

Tee shot landing area is wide but green angulation making course challenging. Bunkers and water hazards are well placed. need good short iron shots and putt to make score.

great layout, in good shape, great value.
course is in great shape, great layout, challenging, greens are medium fast, rolling great, fairways are the best i've seen there in at least a year. very good value, friendly staff! great practice tee (driving range), you can usually hit off the grass.

Tough but fair and in great shape
The course is tough as the greens are very quick if you find yourself above the hole. I thoroughly enjoyed my round.

Great layout.
This course has great layout. Each hole is different. Fairways appears to be very narrow, but are generous. The course challenges you with lots of ups and downs and hilly fairway. A bit short, but nevertheless a good experience for the money.

Course was great
Course was challenging, a lot of bunkers. It was my frist time playing there and enjoyed playing there. Shot a 90. Will be going back again to play there.

Nice views but Challenging
Sterling Hills Golf Course will test your ability reguardless of your handicap. This course has lots of challenges, from rolling hills to protective bunkers. Most of the holes play longer than the recorded yardage. The greens are maintained, but have different undulations than can be frustrating at times. It is challenging to drive your ball on the par 4 water hole. The scenery is great and the course has lots of trees of different varieties. Overall, you will enjoy Sterling Hills. Bring your "A" game because you"ll need it here.

GREEN FEES WERE VERY REASONABLE AND WORTH EVERY PENNY. FRIENDLY STAFF, COURSE IN GREAT CONDITION, STIFF GREENS, AND HANDS DOWN GORGEOUS SCENERY. I'LL BE BACK HERE AGAIN, VERY SOON. WE HAD A GREAT TIME, AND WE APPRECIATE THE FREE RANGE BALLS GIVEN WHILE WE WAITED FOR OUR TEE TIME ... VERY GENEROUS, CONSIDERING THE START TIME DELAY WE INCURRED.

Course conditions did not hold up well after a small amount of rain
Played the afternoon of Christmas Eve. The fairway conditions were very poor after less than 1/4" of rain the night before. Over half of the fairway lies were unusually muddy and frequently had to clean chunks of mud from the ball. Additionally, our cleats would constantly fill with mud while walking from the cart paths to the fairways (cart paths only). Normally the course is in pretty good condition, however I definitely would not recommend playing here after a rainy day.

Wish this course was closer to home.
Played after the rain and though the course was wet still very well maintained. Greens rolled true. Fairways had some areas of ground under repair as the winter maintenance is going on. Even though I generally use my own GPS I love the in cart GPS. Overall this is one the favorites for our playing group.

Good course, fairways being worked on, hopefully in the near future the course will be in overall great shape from all of the work being out in.
Fairways currently being worked on. There were a lot of patchy lies (winter rules? :). Greens were good (a bit slow, but consider that from the rain in the recent past) and tee boxes have improved since last play a couple of months ago. Range hit off grass for first time as long as I could remember, which was nice. Will go back for sure.

Great greens. Fairways need attention due to recent rain

Booked time through Golf Now but got better senior rate at course.

what a dump!
course is not playable. I am not that picky, as I play muni's as well as private and public courses. I played here many times in the past, but this time, this course was not playable. It is evident that the course has been totally neglected from a maintenance point of view. Will not play here - even at the discounted rates, until they get their act together.

course has a lot of maintenance issues. Piles of dead grass onfairways and around greens - not well kept
Issues with mowed grass left in piles all over the course. dead no grass on lots of places around the course. poor maintanenace - It seems that owners are saving lots of water at the sxpense of the course,,

Beautiful course, very fair, few blind drives,very green
The staff has always been very accomodating and the marshals
keep the peace but in a conversationsal manner. The pace of
play is dependent on your group and slows at three pars only
occassionally. It is not difficult to lose a ball on any hole but
you really have to be off course.
The holes have a great deal of variety and it really helps to
play there often to have aa good score.
It is one of my favorite courses and compares well to any
club course in So Cal.
