beautiful scenery, tough course
The experience of this course begins with the scenic drive to Bodega Bay, Past memories of Hitchcocks' The Birds, the road winds through Marin County hamlets. Course is quite hilly, winding through homes however this is not a typical real estate course, as the elevation changes provide an open view to the Ocean on almost all holes. Visible fog banks answer the question why this was the setting for Carpenters' "The Fog". Great value but could use more distance markers on fairway or otherwise more prominent distance guidance. Overall signage is lacking, as it is unclear where certain things are, such as the proshop. Usage of gas carts appear a bit outdated, but maybe the hilliness is a challenge for regular cart batteries.
Restaurant serves very good food, so stop by there after your round.

Beautiful Course!!!
I don't mind the 1 1/2 hour drive from Oakland to play here.
This is a fun and beautiful course. I would have given 5 stars but on this visit the greens were in repair.

Great course, but not when it is blowing 25 plus
This is a beautiful course and challenging even when it isn't blowing 25 mph plus. The day I happened to play it was going just that. I was hitting 3 wood where I normally hit a 5 iron and still coming up short into the wind. The one downside is the scenery is obscured by the homes that line most of the holes. It is worth the trip if you live or are in the area. Not sure how the pace of play is normally but walking as a single I caught up to a group 4 holes ahead of me (this might have had to do with the wind).

The fairways were in great conditions, the traps were pristine, but a couple of the greens were barren and patched in places.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The round took a little over 4 hours and the pace of play was great. I always enjoy playing this challenging and scenic course.

Great golf course, beautiful, challenging, interesting.
I played this course three days ago and I have already told everyone I know who plays golf about this fun caostal gem. Holes 5, 16 and 17 are worth the price of admission all on their own. I'll be back...

Excellent layout. Greens in poor condition right now
My first time playing Bodega. Not a long course, but from the back tees very challenging. Must drive it straight. Local knowledge important. You don't need a driver off the tee on some of the par 4s and par 5s. Incredible views of the coastline from many of the tees and greens. Substantial elevation changes on some holes. The wind was howling, sometimes a 3 club difference, requiring flighting the ball low or high, left or right, and letting the wind move it. Unfortunately the greens were in dismal condition. I enjoyed the round, but would have had an even better experience if the greens had been in better condition.

Windy, yet delightful.
Teed off at 12:20. It was windy. All day. Sometimes three-clubs worth. Also, because of the lack of rain, the greens were still sandy four weeks out from aerating. Regardless, it was a fantastic day. From the new club house, the condition of the fairways, bunkers, and tee boxes, the new warm-up putting green, the cleanliness of the carts, the amount of staff on hand during a holiday, the attitudes of the staffers, the $7 each "wind" discount we received, beer selection, quality of hotdog buns, and the friendliness of the members out there... it was all exceptional. This is always one of our favorite courses. Tough, but beautiful. And for $35, non-twilight, holiday weekend w/ cart... they will certainly see us again and again.

ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COURSES IN SONOMA COUNTY
The golf is wonderful. But the views are magnificent !!! If you get tired of the challenging course, then look up and all around you at the wonderful views of the Pacific coast and the ocean. It will stop you in your tracks. The greens need some work and they are working on improving them currently, and during the winter the course can get very wet but drains well so there is very little mud on the ball. Lift and place !! Brand new club house was a welcome sight and the view from the bar at the 19th hole is wonderful. Stay for a drink and a sunset. Golf cannot get much better than this !!!!!

Quirky but fun resort course, needs a little improvement
Unfortunately the sideways rain and moderate winds kept us from completing the round, gave up after playing 12 (but we played 18 on the way to the clubhouse). A somewhat cramped layout, with several layup tee shots and, in my opinion, too many houses close to the fairway. The links layout kept many balls in play that would be otherwise in a backyard. Greens were good, fairways were well-maintained. Carts could use more rain protection for clubs and golfers considering the seaside location,. The staff was another negative - two days after leaving a voice message after one of my party left an article of clothing behind we still had not received a return call. Unfortunately, that part of the staff took away from the excellent service from Tatia in the restaurant and the well-informed and cordial on-course staff.

California Links Course
A real gem on the Sonoma Coast. Weather is always a factor with cool temperatures and windy conditions. This is a links course so when you are off the fairway you are out of luck (bring plenty of balls). There are views of the ocean from every hole. The unique aspect to this course is that you cross a reserve area that requires you to walk the 16th and 17th hole. Pull carts are provided for these holes.
Truly an experience that should be enjoyed by anyone who loves a golf adventure.

Fun Course to Play
This is a fun and challenging course to play with spectacular views of Bodega Bay and the Pacific Ocean from every hole. Once we got used to the rolling fairways and the unforgiving rough we really enjoyed our afternoon, The wind came into play on most holes so our game needed adjusting for that as well.
The course climbs up to the top of a hill with incredible views and finishes along the beach with the ocean a few yards away. Incredible if you like the scenery and terrain changes!

Pebble beach in the North Bay
This is a great and challenging course. Narrow fairways and lots of different elevations. On a clear day it is one of the most beautiful courses in the northbay.

Beautiful Bodega
I made the mistake of booking a 7 am Tee time, the visibility was extremely poor until the 12th hole or so due to thick fog. The course is in fantastic shape, I can't wait to go back and play in the afternoon sunshine.
