Roddy Ranch is the Bay Area's most talked about new course. Dubbed "the finest golf course that's opened in the Bay Area in years" by the San Francisco Chronicle, Roddy Ranch is set near the Sacramento River Delta town of Antioch. Views include nearby Mt. Diablo and even the Sierra Nevada in clear weather. Carved from a 2000-acre working cattle ranch, the course's 235 acres offer a true links-style layout over a canvas of an exquisite landscape.

Slow players There were many slow players yesterday. This course is not an easy course. Beginner golfers should not play there. Some golfers yerterday - hit 7 or more times before their balls reached the green. August 20, 2014
Roddy The course has always provided a challenge for many- me included. There are many bunkers protecting the greens. The slope and speed, once on the greens, is another issue to content with. Still to this day I am puzzled by the terms most golfers familiar with the course calls "hospital curb". Regardless of the many challenge this course offers, it does have it's appeal along with the very reasonable price any golfer would find hard to turn away from. August 14, 2014
drought This course is just in horrible condition. They told me they put in Bermuda grass in the driving range to save money in water? Ummm how about you have people hitting into dirt??? Your driving range is downhill so do you think distance markers or grass matter? The course itself is just bad. Ground under repair everywhere, wild bore tearing up the course and literally no grass in all the important spots...the fairway. greens were ehhh, whatever. Too many ball marks, but that's on the golfer. It's almost getting to the point where 25 for 18 on golf now isn't worth it. I'd like to play on some grass you know? The drought is killing this course for sure. Might have to give this one a break until spring and see if we get some rain this winter. August 13, 2014
confusion There was confusion who was to tee off first and who with . August 9, 2014
Great course great value Greens quick and true fairways surprisingly green given the draught conditions. August 8, 2014
Roddy Ranch Even with the drought, the staff has kept the course well maintained. The greens definitely were tighter and ran way fast. Otherwise, another good day of golfing. Pace of play was 5 hours, and for some reason, I think a majority of us got caught at the tail end of a tournament or large group play August 5, 2014
Summer golf Roddy is doing it right by concentrating its watering to the tees, fairways and greens ONLY. It's brown but we are in a drought. Tee boxes were good, fairways were ok, and greens were VERY GOOD. They held an rolled true. Having carts stay on paths only was not a positive experience, especially in the heat. Overall, a good experience but will not return until carts are allowed off paths. July 31, 2014
Roddy Ranch in July A great course when the wind isn't blowing too hard. Challenging, but playable for all levels. Greens are very fast! Course was pretty dry, but that's understandable given the current drought. Bunkers could use a little more sand. The worst part of the round was the cart-path only rule. It really slows down play and doesn't make sense given the very dry fairways. A 90 degree rule would have been much nicer. July 31, 2014
