Rated 4 out of 5 by Great course Played yesterday and the course was in great shape for October. Could play here all winter. I'll be back for sure. Thanks October 29, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Bunkers need some work... This course is very picturesque, has great scenery and is quite challenging. The greens were excellent and the fairways pretty good considering the lack of rain there this summer. On the downside the bunkers had very little sand in them and were like concrete about 3/4" of sand in the bottom and every club in my $50 club rental was dirty... even the woods... horrible. Not even an apology when I politely mentioned this at the end of the round. September 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice course The course is very nice. But if you are not a fan of playing between houses like me, I would not recommend playing there. But the course itself quite nice. September 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by 5 hour round, not a marshall to be seen! This course is often slow, but Sept 3 was ridiculous. They have marshals but they always have a hard time keeping up the pace of play and this day we didn't see one. Some areas have the fairways cut too close and it's like hitting off mud. Otherwise, this time of year the course is in fine shape. The greens are wonderful The bunkers are never great but can be in very bad condition in shoulder and winter months. Unplayable at times. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Beautiful and well conditioned. We enjoyed the time there September 3, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by OK but .... This is a good example of a resort course: forgiving layout, top notch amenities (club house, etc) , high prices and most who play it, like it. Where the design is professional and flows well the rest of the course is less than perfect. The bunkers and there are 70+ of them are poor. The sand, if there is any, is low grade and one wonders if it's bunker sand at all. The turf dries out quickly leaving massive brown spots on the fairways especially on the tops of the small hills. The well designed greens have been cheated of good soil leaving them a pale green color with brown spots most of the summer. The maintenance crew do what they can and it's too bad the owner didn't put as many resources into the soil and bunkers as was done with the design. It looks as if the natural beauty that once surrounded the course is being replaced with backyards and fences as houses keep replacing trees and wildlife. This is a good course; Storey Creek is a great course, IMHO. September 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome course conditions Great evening for golf. Crown Isle has yet to disappoint. Course was in excellent condition. August 20, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Crowne Isle Golf Crowne Isle is a very good course with great conditioning despite the extreme lack of rain. With 5 tee Vicks to choose from there is an ideal length for everyone. This course requires accuracy over distance as you are rewarded for hitting you targets. The bent grass fairways offer very receptive play and the bunkers while deep have good sand allowing for good shots to be made. The greens roll fair and hVe enough undulation to make them challenging. The staff here are very pleasant and helpful and the nineteenth hole offers a nice patio for drinks and food after the round. The deer come out to graze at dusk making for wonderful post round entertainment. I would recommend this course and resort to anyone travelling in the area. August 7, 2015
