Beautiful course in great condition. Keep it in the fairway.
Great staff. The course was in great condition. Beautiful scenery with wildlife. Keep it in the fairway or bring a lot of balls. Excellent experience.

Pro shop and starters need customer service training.
The pro shop attendant acted put-out by having to tell us what courses we were playing and where to go to get our carts. One of the staff on the range interrupted our very friendly starter and told us quite curtly that we weren't allowed to look for any lost balls because, if we did, we would make the course come to a dead stop. We did look for lost balls and we never saw the group behind us. Didn't need the lecture or attitude.

Excellent Condition, tight, bring alot of balls if u are a high hdcpper
Very good shape. Tough for the high handicapper, lots of desert washes to carry over. Bring a lot of balls. Greens were excellent, fast.

Great Course.
Some holes are very tight and challenging! Lovely views of Tuscon and the mountains.

Excellent views and great holes.
Beautiful course, staff friendly, driving range and practice area nice, and course was in great shape.

Slow play
The course was in very good shape but the rate of play was horrible. The back up was huge and we waited on every hole for every shot. Will not play there again for that reason.

Better than expected
Great desert golf with excellent views and target golf. Not very forgiving if you are a little wayward.

Good test of desert golf. Some very tough landing areas make the course play hard.
This course requires hitting into some very hard landing areas and has alot of elevation changes. It's a very good test of golf and the desert was kept intact. There are several carries required over desert areas that might be difficult for shorter hitters. Starr Pass is in good shape this year.

Decent value
Course was in excellent shape and staff was very friendly. Price was higher than other similar courses but not over the top.

Beautiful setting, friendly service and challenging golf.
We played Starr Pass playing 18, 28, 36 and 18 holes in four days after playing 18 at Dove Mountain on the first. Dove Mountain is a little more forgiving and has crazy greens. The greens at Starr Pass are somewhat hard and very fast but putt true. The fairways are green and plush and fun to hit off. This is a very challenging 27 hole layout with some great golf holes. You have very little room for error on most holes but if you really think about and manage your game you can have lots of fun. It's also fun to dare to challenge some of the obsticles in front of you. All three nines are different with Rattler being the most difficult. Go through Golf Now to book your next tee time. We will be back!!

Leave the scorecard in your bag1
You will want to golf here just to experience the natural beauty of mountain/desert golf. Every hole is unfair, forget about score, just enjoy the moment.

Best Course In Tucson
In my humble opinion this is the best course in Tucson: great 27 holes with lots of variety, views, greens, etc. A fantastic pace of play every time I play. Quality staff. And the golf now deals are always very competitive.

Always want to play Starr Pass when in Tucson!
Great time with good friends on a course that makes you think all the time. The desert is beautiful as you wind your way through it. Road Runners entertaind us an almost every tee box. Having played after a freak snow storm that occured the day before, our tee time was delayed only briefly while the Sun took care of clearing the 1" snow blanket covering the course. Cart path only slowed play only slightly, and the Starr Pass Staff handled the entire experience expertly.

Course is in great shape!
The fairways were very nice. The greens roll smoothly and are super fast. This course was challenging and I had a lot of fun playing here.
February 26, 2013
slick greens..tough pins
enjoyed the challenge although cart gps would have been helpful

First Time...WOW!!!
Rattler to Roadrunner...that was fun, challenging and left me wanting to come back soon!

Great Course...Bring Your A-Game
Starr Pass is excellent, though $215 for regular fees forget about that, too many other great courses in Tucson to play for cheaper like Quail Creek, Loews Ventana Canyon or Saddlebrook/Preserve. But, for the Golf Now price, very fun course to play. Get the guide book unless you have a lot of course knowledge here. We played Coyote and Rattler.

Bring your A game and move up a tee box
I have played many courses in the Phoenix/Tuscon area and this is the most difficult that I recall. The nines I played (Coyote and Roadrunner) are visually intimidating with many long carries. They are unforgiving if you hit a bad shot. And even a good tee shot will result in a difficult approach, often from an uneven lie. Greens are on the tough side as well. That said, the course is beautiful and well conditioned. I usually play in the 6300-6400 yard range and did on this occasion as well. In retrospect, I would have moved up from the blacks to the silver or maybe even the blue tees for my first round there and then moved back in subsequent rounds as I got more comfortable and familiar with the course.

Love this course, beware the tough greens
I play this course once or twice when visiting Tucson every year and love it. Several of the holes are target golf at their most challenging. Miss by just a little your ball will roll down into a wash full of thick growth you don't want to wade into. The greens are extremely fast but also very true so if you hit the right line good scores are achievable.
I'll be back again next year.

Starr Pass
Desert golf which would challenge any golfer. Hard to score low from tips. Challenging for mid-handicapper. Challenges are washes and a few blind shots. Fairways and greens both well-maintained. Greens were true and fair. Putting was not the glass table variety.
February 18, 2013
True Desert course - challenging, but playable
All staff at the course were great. Best hole on Coyote course is the par 3 all carry over ravine.
February 17, 2013
Challenging and fun
Starr Pass has many interesting holes, Variety of holes will make you use every club in your bag, course condition is outstanding
February 17, 2013
Brings lots of balls
The overall effect is fantastic. The course is diffcult with many long carries. It would be nice if there were more markers to give you yardage especially to hazards.
February 16, 2013
Amazing course
The staff at Starr Pass is probably the most efficient in the whole Tucson area. The course is in great shape and always challenging. A course to play as many time as possible.
February 15, 2013
Great course difficult greens but great conditions.
Must in Tucson.Difficult not a course for the high handicap.Condition are great.
February 15, 2013
Great Course, Very Friendly Staff.
Played Rattler turn Roadrunner. Both nines in great shape. Greens fast but true. Landing areas small but fair. Great time and would definitely play again.

Starr Pass
The condition of the course and the speed of play was great. Our only problem was the golf cart ran out of juice on the 18th hole. Played the Rattler and Road Runner would like to play the other nine the next time. Nice practice area.
