Arizona National (formerly The Raven Golf Club at Sabino Springs) is desert golf at its finest. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the golf course meanders among the foothills of Tucson`s beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains as it follows the rugged natural flow of the land across shady mesquite-lined arroyos and skirts craggy rock outcroppings.

Along the way, its diverse 6,776-yard layout will throw enough tough decisions and classic golf-in-the-desert challenges at you to test the very limits of your ability. Yet, it has the flexibility to do so without ever becoming unfair. And, its always fun!

As compensation for the challenge, you`ll also get to enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery of any golf course in the Southwest, including panoramic mountain vistas, forests of giant saguaros, and the rare beauty of nine natural springs.

Arizona National has formed an alliance with the University of Arizona to become the home course of the University of Arizona Wildcats men`s and women`s collegiate teams. The teams will practice and play regularly at Arizona National and will also be host to all University of Arizona collegiate events.

This course has not seen any care in months The course has not seen any up keep in months, the only grass on the course is on the tee box and greens, I wouldn't play this course again if they paid me. April 7, 2013
Fun and challenging course layout The course is fun and challenging to play (11 handicap). I played this course for the first time & there were no illustrations of the hole layouts on the card or the box, making a few blind shots even more difficult. The course was in average shape, greens are large and pristine, the fairways are in need of some tlc. Great experience for a great value! Bring water! April 6, 2013
The course looks like it has been starved for water and maintenance for quite a while. The greens are green and have a lot of grass on them. But the fairways are partially dead or completely bare of grass and very hard-packed. Not a lot of divot-taking at AZ National. The bunkers are very hard-packed (impossible to get a wedge under the ball in most places I saw and every place I played from in a bunker). The tees are no longer level and need to be completely re-built. In short, this looks more like a former golf course than a currently open golf course. The only bright spot was that the three people we dealt with were very professional and pleasant. If someone puts a great deal of money and care into the course, it could probably be restored. Unless and until that happens, Arizona National can't charge a low enough green fee to make it worth playing there instead of someplace else in Tucson. April 5, 2013
Great layout and interesting course It looks like they are starting to water the fairways a little, but has a long way to go to get back to normal. Greens are in good condition and pace of play was very good, 3 1/2 hours. The course is challeng from the blues, particularly the back 9. April 5, 2013
Great Course! We really enjoyed the course. Everyone was friendly, course was in good condition. Would definitely golf here again when in the Tucson Area. March 31, 2013
This course is in pathetic condition. Other than the greens, the entire golf course was brown. The fairways had almost no grass and lots of dirt, Only dried out last years grass and sparse clumps of grass like weeds were present. We decided to apply a modified "winter rules" type play off of these grass clumps to make this course somewhat playable. The sand traps were like concrete and rodents and weeds now live in them. The condition of the course detracts from any enjoyment you might have had playing here. Save your money and frustration and play any other course in the Tucson area. This place wins the prize as being in the worst condition of any course in the Tucson area, public or private. March 30, 2013
course in bankrupcey, not being maintairned course should not be part of golfnow. fairways were unplayable. please do not play. the city owned courses are a better value. March 30, 2013
Cheap, now I know why. Fairways were in very rough shape. My group played with the MN winter rules, if you were in a fairway you can find a decent patch of grass nearby to place your ball on. Sometimes, there wasn't even one.... They need water on a regular basis is the understatement of the year. Greens & Teeboxes were in good shape though, which at least made the day tolerable. March 29, 2013
Fairway needs improvement, the greens and Tees are excellent. One of the most scenic course I have played. Great views of the mountain range and the city. Nature at its best ! March 29, 2013
Great people and great course in lousy condition I've played the course for years, and always enjoy it. This most recent time, however, I was so disappointed to see the fairways and rough in such terrible conditions. The course needs to be entirely re seeded to bring it back to the kind of top course it has been in the past. I hope it happens. March 28, 2013
Shape of course I returned to Tucson expecting to play the course I had played for years only to find deplorable fairways and sand traps devoid of sand. I would not play here unless you walk out and check the condition of the course first. March 27, 2013
Fairways were brown with little grass. Fairways were actually sprayed to give appearance of grass. This used to be a pristine course, but sadly we'll never play it again until it is back to its original condition. March 27, 2013
Horrible Condition! Very upset and disappointed that a course in this condition is even on your website of courses to play. I paid for a round of golf for 4 people $165.00 when it isn't worth $10 Each! I know it is not Golfnow's fault, but responsibility has to start somewhere for allowing this. I have been booking rounds on your site for years, and this definitely took the cake. There should be some kind of compensation either from the course and or any website that allows for this to happen. We drove an hour to a course that isn't able to be seen in the condition before you actually book the round. VERY DISAPPOINTED! March 25, 2013
Low rating The fair way were in horrible condition. The back 9 was so difficult, golfers fell further and further behind. We quit playing before completing the course because of slow play. March 24, 2013
terrible condition..... went back to see if any improvement.....wish I had not....fairways are in terrible condition.....if you want goat pasture golf, (worse than cow pasture) then by all means go...otherwise, play elsewhere... March 22, 2013
This course is not in very good shape. The tees and greens are in good shape but the rest is not. Some bunkers don't have enough sand, the fairways are dry and mostly in very poor condition. I like the layout. It would be a lot of fun if in better condition. One of large water hazards is totally dry. As happens with a course going down hill there is not enough care given by players who drive carts in places where they shouldn't and not enough employees to keep the place up. The employees are friendly and helpful. It's just too bad a potentially great course has come to this. On the other hand it is inexpensive and if you are able you can visualize a great experience. March 22, 2013
Beautiful venue in poor condition Due to financial issues, this course has discontinued watering fairways and they are in poor condition. Much bare dirt. Greens and tees are watered and are in good condition. A lovely venue that needs TLC, but until owner can sell, I don't predict much improvement. March 22, 2013
Only part way back. Tee box and greens are fine; in between, fairways and sand traps are miserable. Low rates now, mean you get what you pay for on this beautiful design, and otherwise high-end course. March 22, 2013
Course was not overseeded and the fairways are terrible. The greens are lush but need cutting. This course has great views of the valley and some very interesting holes, but the fairways are really hurting. I could not recommend anyone playing here unless you don't mind hitting off hardpan. March 19, 2013
Fairways need attention. This course used to be one of the finest in Tucson. Now it appears that a shortage of water on the fairways is relegating this course to the same condition as a muni (el Rio, Fred Enke). The course is a challenge without having to hit off of dry fairways. Divot? Gonna hurt. PLEASE water fairways. March 17, 2013
Course is in very poor shape. The course is in very poor shape. It was not over-seeded and looks like it is only watered on greens and tees. The fairways have only dormant grass or dirt and will not hold a tee shot. I was very disappointed. March 16, 2013
The views are awesome AZ National has problems. The greens and T boxes are in very good shape but the fairway has no grass and they have painted it green. Lots of desert to contend with problem shots. The views are awesome-- on the 18th hole you have a spectacular view of the city of Tucson and the clubhouse. The staff is very friendly in the pro shop and club house. Someone needs to step up and buy this course and turn it around. It was spectacular a few years ago. March 16, 2013
Course conditions need work. Fairways not in good shape. If you miss the fairway you are in deep desert conditions and the rough rolls into the desert. Greens are in good shape though. If course conditions were better this would be an interesting, challenging course. March 15, 2013
course needs dire attention Would have been nice if I had been informed about the conditions of the course March 15, 2013
DO NOT PLAY THE COURSE (Arizona National) over priced , poor course Over priced and the conditions of the course were very poor . I have played other courses in Tucson that were in much better conditions and lower fees . I would never ever play this course again or recommend it to anyone golfer that plays ................. Tucson city courses are in much more better conditions and lower fees ....... Never ever again !!!!!! March 13, 2013
Great layout. Good greens and T Box areas.. It is criminal that a course of this calibre was not overseeded in the fall for winter play. This is one of the finest tracks of golf in Tucson and it deserves to be run by someone that respects this fact. As things now stand, with the absence of overseeded, you are hitting off non-existent fairways (hardpan) and the ball can and often does go anywhere even with good strike. March 13, 2013
Disappointed Fairways had not been over seeded for winter play. Needless to say the fairways were bare. This info should be available when making tee time. Greens were pristine. Very disappointed in course condition. Have played in past when course was in pristine condition. March 12, 2013
Fairways were very dry. We would not play this course again I thought your signature hole was very poorly layed out. There is no way that you can see where the players are in front of you.We had three players drive their balls into us while we were waiting on the players in front of us.I am supprise that you have not had people hurt on this hole.one of the balls hit my bag on the back of the cart. There needs to be a bell or buzzer that the golfers can let the players behind them know when it is safe to go ahead and tee off. March 11, 2013
I wouldn't play this course again if it was free! That says a lot! Wow, it is clear that this WAS once a great course, however like the previous comments, there was no fairway grass! Made it nearly impossible to play. Just like playing off a cement slab. It's a tragedy they let a course like this fail. March 8, 2013
Warning - do not play this course. In my approximate 20 years of playing golf - I must say this course is in the worst condition of ANY I have seen. There is absolutey NO grass in the fairways. Looks like they quit watering last year. There is no bermuda, rye or any kind of grass in the fairways. Maybe just a few weeds. If you don't mind hitting off bare dirt all day ... then this is the perfect place for you. Course is so bad it should be shut down and made into an animal preserve. March 7, 2013
