Arizona National (formerly The Raven Golf Club at Sabino Springs) is desert golf at its finest. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the golf course meanders among the foothills of Tucson`s beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains as it follows the rugged natural flow of the land across shady mesquite-lined arroyos and skirts craggy rock outcroppings.

Along the way, its diverse 6,776-yard layout will throw enough tough decisions and classic golf-in-the-desert challenges at you to test the very limits of your ability. Yet, it has the flexibility to do so without ever becoming unfair. And, its always fun!

As compensation for the challenge, you`ll also get to enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery of any golf course in the Southwest, including panoramic mountain vistas, forests of giant saguaros, and the rare beauty of nine natural springs.

Arizona National has formed an alliance with the University of Arizona to become the home course of the University of Arizona Wildcats men`s and women`s collegiate teams. The teams will practice and play regularly at Arizona National and will also be host to all University of Arizona collegiate events.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ridiculous Pace Of Play The first nine holes we waited about 15 minutes on ever tee box. The pace of play here was ridiculous, we quit after playing only nine holes. When we got the 10 tee box there was a group of four players on the par 5 green. Two other groups had teed off and were in the fairway. Yes a total of 8 players were waiting to hit there second shots from the fairway. At this point we had enough. The bunkers were a joke, look like the had'nt been racked in years. Fairways were good, some of the greens had bare spots. I used to love playing this course and after reading the reviews i'm not the first to have a problem with pace of play. Wont go back. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great time the Greens had been punched about 3 weeks ago but they were in very good condition today. Fairways are in good shape and the views from several of the greens and tee boxes are some of the best in Arizona, fantastic! Lots of fun at Arizona National. August 5, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Getting Better The greens were recently aerated and were a little bumpy. But overall, the course is in much better shape than last year. I will go back. However, I should note that unlike the past, range balls are extra. August 2, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Much Improved The last time I played Arizona National was over a year ago. At that time the course was distressed financially and, as a result, the condition of the course and facilities suffered. Given the hot summer season I was pleasantly surprised that the. Course was much improved, especially the greens and fairways. There is plenty of challenge for the advanced golfer while less skilled players will find the fairways forgiving of errant drives. Rated 3 out of 5 by Course specifics not mentioned The tees and fairways were 5 star. However they had recently punched the greens and sanded them. Putting was difficult. Also the driving range was closed. No mention of either item was posted on Golf Now. I would like to know these things in advance and make my own decision. July 23, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by long drive Enjoyable round of golf. Been 16+ years since I played the course. Views are great. Several opportunities to get a good picture. They told us the greens were a bit bumpy and they were going to punch the greens again. I thought the greens played pretty good. I was late for my tee time but no worries they got me out with the next group. Thanks July 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Certainly improving Older reviews had lamented how far downhill this course had gone. Well, I can definitely state that it is certainly on its way back uphill. The condition of the course and the greens were both superb. And don't forget about the views. The views are the best of any course that I have played in the Tucson area. The only negative that we encountered was the pace of play. We played behind a Wed. men's league and they were slow, very slow. Avoid this Wed. group and you will be in for a treat. July 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Someone had said best Grass in Tuscon I had read a review that said this place had the best conditions in an area flooded by Golf courses. Well--- if it doesn't live up to this claim of best conditions-- ( Sewallo and Turquoise Valley are in the running for this honor as well ) it is definitely one of the top three--HOWEVER-- When you talk about the best overall course--in my book--this place wins.-- it has the best views on the back 9--the back nine can also boast of the most challenging holes in Tuscon. It's a bit of a ride--but well worth it July 12, 2015
