Tubac Golf Resort 4.3 5 58 58
Very good design/layout. Very good condition Best course I've played in Southern AZ. Very good condition. Holes are challenging enough, though fairly flat. Greens are a little slower than other courses in the Green Valley area, but that's a good thing. Normal price is a little steep for me, but I got a very fair price on GolfNow.com. Highly recommend playing this course. April 4, 2013
Good Enjoyed our outing, sorry to have missed El Rancho as we were told it was the best, maybe next time March 24, 2013
Lovely, lush course, that is fun to play Great layout. There are three nines and all are good, but one, Ranch is superb. All are well maintained with more grass and less punitive rough conditions than is typical in the area. A bit pricier than local courses, but worth it for the conditions and playability of the course. My one beef was that some of the bunkers were mud and didn't have sand. March 24, 2013
Decent but not worth the drive The course was in very good condition. The starter and cart guys were just not attentive or seeming to care. Originally put us off behind 4 groups of extremely slow players ( members, so they new how slow they would be). After 2 holes we went back in. They put us back out on another 9 but they should have known to do this before we started. When we arrived the person in charge of moving bags from the drop to the carts, just walked past my wife, uninterested in helping. we carried our own. No big deal at a muny course, but not acceptable at a resort course. After our round was over, they asked if we wanted help, but certainly did not volunteer. Attitude just unengaged and lazy. Plenty of better courses around Tucson. Save the drive. March 24, 2013
Best conditions in southern az We teed off early so there was nobody on the course. The fairways and greens were in tourney shape. The greens rolled true and the course was clean. Totally worth the money.. We played that day for 55 dollars a piece.... March 24, 2013
Well worth the trip and expense. If you are in the Tucson area, this is a must play course. The staff was very helpful & friendly. The course was in great shape. Some of the holes were marked with plaques noting the tie-in to the movie Tin Cup. Fun place to play golf. March 24, 2013
Very nice course, well maintained, greens in good shape. We teed off 45min. late, but were able to get 18 in because the other twosome dropped out. Thoroughly enjoyed the course, extremely well maintained in a difficult climate. Did notice that someone likes to put trees in front of a few greens, these should be removed which would improve the green aesthetics and playability. March 22, 2013
Fun course, but watch out for the long holes! We played on a wonderful, beautiful spring day! The course is not as user-friendly as we would have liked, but was in beautiful shape! The starter was accomodating, but had moved our start time 1/2 hour ahead based on some member's suggestion...we moved it back. Then they kicked us onto the course before we could even do any warm-up...not the best way to begin a round! Signing was a little sparse, despite what they may think! However, after a couple of 19th hole beers at a lovely outdoor table on a mildly breezy 80 degree day...who remembers all of that! March 20, 2013
Great conditions So many varried holes, just plain fun to play. Fast friendly greens lush fairways, great layout. March 9, 2013
The cource waqs fun and changling The Starter was very helpful My brother was out from Wisconsin And he wanted to play the Tin Cup course , we were not scheduled for that course so he made some changes for us Thank you it made my brothers vacation March 6, 2013
Fine golf resort Best conditioned golf course in southren Az. Holes challenging but fair. Course condition excellent. March 1, 2013
Picturesk course Value rating based upon full price green fees. Discounts available which would upgrade value rating. February 28, 2013
Tin Cup Course...Nice!!! It is a bit to the south, but well worth a trip. The course is really fun and I was able to play the last 9 (27 in total) for $19 bucks thanks to Golf Now. This is a must play course at least once. The Break All The Clubs in the Bag hole, followed by the "you're a pro, hit the 3 wood" holes are worth it, not to mention the island green with cows in the background. You won't be disappointed. February 22, 2013
Old-time resort with 27 holes of fun golf This is a flat course with enough water/desert features to keep a golfer awake. Course winds through resort lodging units and local housing. It has an island green. We played on a very windy day and wound up with some less than desirable lies. Fun and a neat restaurant for before or after round. February 21, 2013
nice cows Everything was great except the bunkers, they are hard and have no sand. You would think a course in this price range could afford sand. February 18, 2013
Some easy holes, some tough. Variety of holes and toughness. From back tees many par fours are tough to reach and some of the shots from the back tees are intimidating. Still it is a fun course to play and interesting from the standpoint "Tin Cup" was filmed there. I would play it again though it is pricier than most Green Valley courses. Range balls are extra which was unexpected for a premium priced course. Good putting green, chipping green and bunker practice areas. February 15, 2013
A super day! We were very fortunate to pick a day when the weather was great and the course in good shape. In spite of a frost delay the staff were very efficient in keeping the course moving and getting the tee times on schedule. Would recommend the course to friends. February 9, 2013
Good course. Very playable. Well maintained. Anzac nine is best. Otero just basic golf February 8, 2013
Don't miss this one I've played Tubac for more than 10 years; this is the best I have ever seen the course. The transformation from "cow-pasture pool" to a fine test of golf on a terrific layout is nothing short of amazing. Make your tee time and go! Everything from the staff to the practce area to the 19th hole were just first class. The best part of the course is its demand of good shot-making. The greens were true and well grown. The fairways are generous, but not too generous; plenty of trees around. And THE hole from the movie "Tin Cup" is here. Its a dandy! February 5, 2013
Nice layout, Rancho 9 is quite scenic. If you play the back tees, bring your A game - trees and water beckon your ball. February 4, 2013
Excellent in every way. Course was in fine shape, the staff appropriately attentive, and the pace of play uninterrupted. I go there as often as I can. February 4, 2013
Very, very nice venue I've played most courses in the Tucson and southern Arizona area and I really like Tubac. It isn't a classic desert golf layout as it rolls through the river area between two mountain ranges, so it isn't target golf by any means. It has a lot of mature trees and is very playable. That being said, it isn't easy either. The conditions are very nice and while it might not be as wonderful as some of the high dollar Tucson courses, it is barely a notch below that. For the price, setting and playability, it is excellent. February 1, 2013
the course was great in every respect what a wonderful day, greens were perfect, fairways cut and the staff went out of there way to make everything a perfect day of golf. we were able to play in just over three hours. will play there many more times this golf season. January 23, 2013
Pristine beauty This is a golf COURSE review and not about the price of shirts in the pro shop. If you like golf courses that aren't rated 5 stars because of multi million dollar homes lining their fairways and you like being out in the heart of nature with old growth trees, beautiful mountain views and a good dose of the natural world, then you'll like Tubac. Brown dormant rough with ultra green fairways and greens in A-1 condition stimping at around 10.5. The greens on the newer 9 holes of Tubac's 27 holes are a different grass than the bentgrass of the original and have a slight grain to them and are a little slower. Those newer holes that have been mixed with the older course holes have a different more deserty feel to them which makes the courses have a nice variety feel to them. January 15, 2013
very nice place to play golf. The greens were fast and the speeds were consistent. We never had to wait to tee off. We played in about 3 1/2 hrs. December 21, 2012
Nice course I have played this course numerous times, the outside staff is great, inside staff needs help with people skills. December 19, 2012
right from our first contact, friendly and efficient staff, great facility. Excellent course layout The course offered ample opportunities for risk reward shots as well as requiring accurate landing area shots. I loved playing the course for the first time and will be playing it again. The pro shop staff was very friendly and helpful. Food service was excellent and the food was great. December 18, 2012
Well conditioned and an extremely scenic setting The course was a good test of golf and was an enjoyable experience. The pro shop personnel were less than friendly or helpful. December 12, 2012
A beautiful place to play golf The Tin Cup postings added a flair to an already beautiful course. December 8, 2012
We love this course and enjoy playing it every time we're in Arizona! We've played this course for many years and it just gets better and better! December 6, 2012
