Oakcreek Country Club
A good walking course in the desert
First things first, I didn't have time to play the course, so I drove all 18 holes to get a feel of the place. More than half of the groups on the course were walking, a reflection of the gentle land. Oak Creek doesn't feel like a desert course. It's wall to wall green grass. The mature trees and pines lining the fairways mimic the classic country clubs of the Midwest. A couple ponds and a creek are the only hazards to worry about, not the desert washes and canyons that characterize most courses in the region. It's pleasant and playable.

Nice views, fun course
The course is about 1.5 - 2 hours north of Phoenix in Sedona area. Take the day and enjoy the sites and food in the town to make the day complete. The course has a few tricky holes but generally straight forward. All puts break away from the Rock, believe it! Greens were a little slow but true and over all course in good shape. Staff were very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for low stress golf with plenty of views to admire between shots, this is a good bet.
