Introducing Oakcreek Country Club

Oakcreek Country Club, designed by the famous father and son team of Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr., can truly be described as a work of art. The par 72, 18-hole championship golf course is nestled among the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona with views beyond compare and the golf course design a masterpiece.

The golf course is a traditional layout similar to those that you may find in the midwestern United States. In the usual Trent Jones manner, the fairways are classic tree lined doglegs with fairway bunkers strategically placed in the landing areas, and the greens are all slightly elevated and surrounded with large swirling greenside bunkers. The course is "player friendly", allowing plently of room for error but always with an opportunity to recover and get errant shots back into play.

The golf course consists of 145 acres, including three lakes. Water comes into play twice on the front nine between the #1 and #9 holes. On the back nine the water comes into play on holes #13 and #16 and occasionally, on hole #15. Recent renovations to the golf course include brand new concrete cart paths and all the greenside bunkers rebuilt under the watchful eyes of the Robert Trent Jones Jr. design firm.

Oakcreek Country Club 4.2 5 44 44
A great day in Oak Creek! Played at noon on a monday. This has so far been our best golfing experience since we moved to Arizona. The Club was easy to find following a less than 2-hour drive from Phoenix. The staff was super helpful and friendly. We arrived early so we hit range balls and when I asked "how much" they said "don't worry about it, hit as many as you want". The carts were the nicest I've ever driven (electric) including coolers filled with ice. The range balls were new and washed and the range hitting area (grass) was large and well maintained. When I asked about the coure rules they said "be responsible with your cart and have a good time" How refreshing! The course was in great condition and fairly challenging (from the blue tees). Almost every hole was a dogleg with strategically placed bunkers. The landing areas were generous but if you missed, the rough was thick and deep. The bunkers had all been groomed and the sand was soft and playable. Our only problem came at the refreshment window after our front nine. We stopped to get a quick snack but the lone worker was completely overwhelmed and after waiting several minutes we had to leave empty handed. To their credit, they sent a girl out in a cart to find us and she brought us some food and beverages. Our 4-hour round was completely enjoyable (buoyed by my two birdies) and we can't wait to play this course again. October 16, 2012
One of the best courses I've played in Arizona!! I can't say enough about OakCreek CC. The course was in incredible condition. We played from tips which at this elevation seemed more like 6300 yards than the 6900 it's marked at. From the back tees you need to be able to work the ball both directions which is challenging to do because of the full size trees that line the entire course. I will definitly be back to play this course sooner than later. October 12, 2012
great course It is a beautiful and well maintained course. I had a great time to play there. Will love go back to play again. April 6, 2013
Keep your head down The Red Rocks will distract you, the bunker placement will challenge you, and the slope of the greens will frustrate you, but isn't that what golf is all about? April 4, 2013
Nice older course in good condition Played twilight round on March 31. Pace of play was good - we finished in just under 3.5 hours. Course was in good shape, with a few bad spots on fairways but very well maintained greens. It is an older country club style course with several dog legs and reasonably challenging, well-bunkered moderately tiered greens (at least challenging for a 20+ handicapper like me). Not much in the way of hazards and rough was low. Despite the location in Sedona, views are not particularly great, although a couple of holes have nice vistas. I thought for a twilight rate this was a fine course, but for me not worth a full price round. I would give it about 3.5 stars, but couldn't do that in the ratings here, so stuck with 3. No brainer for $45 including range balls Course is in pretty good shape right now after the freezing winter. Chipping is easy for me here. Greens are to be respected for a hacker like myself but not to tuff. I got a 12:00 tee time which came to $45 incl range balls. The same thing at verde santa fe would have been $44. These courses are not in the same league though. OCC is waaaayyyyy better. April 3, 2013
Excellent course....beautiful scenery.....great condition. Great value for the money. Challenging and scenic. Pace of play could be a little better. April 1, 2013
Superb! Great views from pretty much all fairways. This is a gem, is a seriously superb area! Treat yourself! March 25, 2013
Good value for the money. They could offer wet towels for the course. They need a marshal to keep play moving. Other than that I would definitely play it again. March 25, 2013
The staff was very friendly. Course was in great shape from from tees to green and even the sand traps. I would lvoe to play this course again. It was challenging but fun for all levels of play. It had many bunkers but they were taken care of so you had a fair chance to get up and down. The greens were soft and receptive. The range was nice as well, with a putting and chipping area. March 25, 2013
Tough greens, tight fairways with mature trees This Robert Trent Jones course has tight fairways lined with mature trees. There is water 4 holes. Greens are fast and knobbly, no flat lies. There are no marshals on the course, hence the 5 hour round. Played behind 4 members who were obviously playing for money. They were teeing from blues whereby 3 of them should have been playing the whites. There were 2 open holes in front of them, and we waited on average 5-10 minutes on every tee. They were very inconsiderate since we were a three some and they would not let us play through. Played this course in December with a local member, after 9 nine holes were delayed at the 10th, due to a member tourney. member advised that the wait would be an hour and there would be slow play, so I chose to leave after 9. March 24, 2013
The value is moderate. Don't make me pick between Poor & Great. Great layout and views. Currently, greens are too hard and fairway grass is spotty in too many areas. Its just late March, so it will improve. Need to marshall the pace of play. 2 weeks ago it was 6 hrs. Last week it was 5 hrs. Doesn't seem to be any consideration of this aspect by the course mgmt. March 24, 2013
Nice course....another month of nice weather and it will be real good Nice track, greens can be a bit challenging to read and several of the elevated greens do not hold a long iron shot well. March 20, 2013
A fine golf experience A challenging course for us. My wife and I both play from the red tees which made this course a lot of fun. One can feel the architects plan on each shot. The toughest part was on the home stretch playing into the setting sun. Practice up your putting the greens are challenging March 19, 2013
Fantastis Views This is a beautiful and challenging course that has four sets of tees to meet all needs. Designed by Robert Trent Jones it is fun and frustrating as the greens are fast and many of the holes break hard 8 inches from the cup making for very few one putts and several 3 putts. If you have never been to Sedona it is a must play course. A great value for the money and a fantastic experience. March 19, 2013
Nice views Nice course, the fairways and tee boxes are in good conditions, the greens in excellent conditions. I liked the speed of the greens. No marshall on the course, some players were slow! March 19, 2013
Beautiful course nestled in the AZ Red Rock area! A beautiful course with many red rock vistas. RT Jones course is challenging and nicely maintained, but don't forget your sand wedge. There are many chances for difficulty. Accurate shots are rewarded. February 27, 2013
Course is in winter conditions. Course is very busy with members. Course is in winter conditions but the location Is great. February 16, 2013
This is a fun course Played the shotgun start. This is the 3rd time we have played there - and everytime we have been paired with lovely people and the staff has been very accomidating. Super nice and very professional. Course has some brown areas but this understandable because of winter conditions. February 15, 2013
Suprisingly, the greens are in excellent condition for February. Love this golf course...Trent Jones senior / junior design. Great facilities for a course open to the public. The par three fourth hole is a post -card gorgeous golf hole. I like the variety of the course layout and all the par threes are photo- op. golf holes. Watch the weather before you book a tee time and you can easily find yourself on the first tee with 60 -plus degree weather and only a few players out on the course. CD Sedona February 9, 2013
A great track with great views. A beautifully situated course, with very interesting holes. Playing conditions better than acceptable in spite of cool winter season. This was a great deal at the golfnow hot special. Look forward to playing again. February 4, 2013
Greens are fast and in great shape. I was impressed with the shape the course was in considering the cold weather that has plagued the area for the last month or so. Great deal too. February 1, 2013
The view was spectacular. Due to the condition of the course would only recommend to a friend to play for the view. Course was not in great shape but I guess it is winter. We played at Luke AFB and the course was beautiful. We really expected this course to look much nicer. We also expected to have breakfast before we golfed and they did not open to 11 am and that is when our T-time was. We were told there would be a cart girl at 11 but did not see her till our 10th hole.. I would say overall I was disappointed and very hungry because we did not eat. We drove 2 hours to play this course and would not do it again. January 25, 2013
Oak Creek in Jan Played a 11am shotgun start, pace of play good no waiting, course in great shape for time of year.Greens a little slow to OCC standards, January 10, 2013
Wonderful day of Winter Golf, High Country Getaway Started the Day in crisp 39 degrees, Snow in parts of the fairways. Play was steady and at a relaxing pace. Winter rules were in place, the course was in good condition, the Staff friendly and helpful. With the beauty of the Oakcreek, Sedona Red Rock Country, My wife and I had a wonderful day. This was how we wanted to start the New Year... Golfing, Enjoying the Outdoors and meeting new people on the golf course. January 7, 2013
