McCormick Ranch Golf Club
Soft greens-OK shape, free warm-up range balls, calls for different shots.
staff never called T-time.
Watch for balls carefully-easily lost in rough
Not told carts had GPS, didn't notice until back 9.
distances not well marked on the course

Played my first Scottsdale game at McCormick Ranch with my buddy and our wives. Course is not too difficult and fairly open so won't lose too many balls.
Paid the discount rate of $65. I would have been unhappy if I paid full price. There are much better courses for $65 (like Tonto Verde).

Nice course but a little pricey compared to other local courses
We liked it, but with cart path only it was a little slower than normal. But really nice easy course layout

Great Mature Course
You can tell this is definitely an older course, however, I really liked the mature trees, etc. It really challenges you in the way you play your game.

Great value for the Scottsdale area...
Played Palms on November 15, 2013 with a local gent and another GolfNow member visiting from Canada. Easy check in but very busy with a tourney going off the Pines course. Had been over seeded several weeks earlier so cart path only...that said, tee boxes, fairways and greens were in excellent shape. Sand (in 3 times) was fine and without stones or debris. Did finish the last two holes with nominal light as sun sets at 5:30 local time. Interesting layout overall and will go back to play again.

This was the worst Scottsdale golfing experience I have had.
The back nine took over two and a half hours to play as there were 2 fourballs in front that had people playing who appeared to have never played golf before. The Course Ranger never appeared on the course to deal with this and our round was painfully slow made worse by having to watch the circus in front. When I mentioned the lack of any appearance by a Ranger to deal with the situation and expressed my dissatisfaction with the whole experience in the Pro shop all that was said was thankyou for sharing your opinion - no apology or expression of sympathy for our poor experience. I will never be going back there again.

The course was convienently located near Scottsdale
We booked the night before and was able to get on which was fine. The course was busy (good for business) yet the dollar spent versus product received was not at par value. The starter wasn't present at the first hole of tee off, resulting in multiple polite discussions amoung two and half foursomes as to whom should be teeing off first. Minimal markers which were difficult to find on fairways. The gps system on the carts were very small and located in the upper right with confusing information. The course layout being somewhat narrow at times, the carts did not have a protective plexiglass window to prevent wayward shots from other golfers. Paint on the offical markers on tee boxes were peeling off so it was unclear to proper distance especially on par 3's.

Course great - Pro Shop Customer Service?
Glad to find this course last minute. Called Pro Shop for club rental price day before, told $35. Got to course - $48.50. Told "Oh, that's after 2 Pm." Really? While I stated I called and Pro Shop told me $35, they seemed fixed on charging me "before 2 pm price." A good CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED Pro shop would not have thought twice of honoring $35 club rental price. Pro Shop Service (0-5) = 2; Cart/Club Rental Staff = 5. Michael in Cart/Club Rental was excellent! Maybe he and his other co-workers can teach pro Shop staff a thing or two about great Customer Service.
