Legend Trail Golf Club 4.1 5 91 91
Difficult course ,very slow play Very difficult course for the average golfer. Lots of blind shots so the first timers will find it frustrating. This resulted in very slow play, backed up on every tee. Very nice practice area. GPS carts would help a lot . April 4, 2013
75% of Troon Courses at about 50% of the cost Actually liked this course. It is very much like the two Troon courses that I mentioned the Monument and Pinnacle. Legend Trails was $99. Layout and terrain are very similar. The course is not as pristine as Troon. So if you are interested in the golf than I think a pretty comparable experience. If you want the first class service and experience than go to the Troon courses. April 3, 2013
The course has the right amount of challenge, yet it is open enough for the average player Staff was helpful, informative and friendly. Course condition was well maintained. The black tees make for several challenging holes from the tee, and some long par 3's. Most landing zones from the tee were foregiving enough. Pace of play was just a little over 4 hours. Overall the experience was excellent. March 27, 2013
Afternoon rate was extremely reasonable for this course. I paid the same price in late January after this years frost for a course in Mesa and Legend Trail blew it out of the water. Great condition for an afternoon tee-time of 2:00, finished by sunset and enjoyed ourselves. Small amount of waiting but the course is challenging enough for you to not notice it much unless you string a few good shots together March 26, 2013
While not exceptionally long from the black tee box, the course makes up for it with challenging, quick greens. The pace of play was good. Must be on top of your putting game when at LT. Recently played two rounds at LT and found the course to be in great shape. I was able to make a tee time 48 hrs prior to round at about 50% of in-season green fee. It happened to be the first tee time of day so it was a good quick round (< 3.5 hours) playing from back tees (Black). Being a sucker for a golf apparel, I really like the LT logo. It was disappointing when walking through the pro shop that I was disappointed in the available merchandise. The brands were name brands but the design of shirts I found to be lacking. I know this is a preferred style choice. March 25, 2013
The biggest disappointing for the money on our golf trip. There are much better places to play for the money than legends trail. I don't know what course these other guys are reviewing but if you compare it to the other Pheonix courses it not the value you are looking for. Greens are good but the rest of the course is muni-ess. Range is poor at best with random grass spots, no GPS on carts, and very few sprinkler heads still have yardage marks. The biggest irritation is that we are out of state and booked this as play and replay, we waisted our money. We were 3rd and 4th off on Sat. Morn. and played in 4:55 followed by a 1:30 and 1:39 tee time and played in 4:50. This was the poorest course we played and the most expensive of five. For the money go to Raven or Quintero. March 18, 2013
Friendly staff and a fun course to place go play it. Very nice layout. Friendly staff. Play was a litle slow on the back nine. Back nine has some challenging holes. Go play it. March 18, 2013
Pleasure to play We played at twilight. The pace was great. The conditions of the fairways and greens were excellent and in particular, the greens were fast. Great views of the McDowell Mountain Range and Pinnacle Peak. Loved the waterfall hole. It was very picturesque. Im a 23 handicap and believe it served my game well. Only complaint I had was at the practice tees, driving range balls weren't available immediately. With due respect, it may have been a result of the late Tee Time. March 17, 2013
Good challenging golf course -- practice facility was shabby. Legend Trail is like many of the Scottsdale desert courses. The greens and course layout is somewhat tricked up to make the course look formidable but the fairways are generous enough. Greens are probably more tricked up than needed, with undulations and false fronts, etc., but in keeping with other area courses. I thought it was a bit on the expensive side for the location and shabby maintenance on the driving range. March 16, 2013
Pace of play was awful. Looks like a tee time after 11 o'clock is not a good idea. Where was the marshall? We waited on every shot which is not usual for this course. I played it before and it was a bit faster than, let's say a 5 and a half hour pace. Pretty expensive in high season. March 14, 2013
Great Course with Great Views and challenges The staff is top rate, friendly and the proshop has everything you will need. The course starts rather tame but builds to a very tough but fair round of golf. Pick the tee that matches your game and have fun!. I will definitely play there again and you will not go wrong if you play there. March 7, 2013
Too many similar holes winding thru subdivison. I think the colder weather this year for the couses high elevation had an effect on the fairways which were spotty in many areas. March 6, 2013
Picturesque layout, good playabllity for all skill levels The driving range was a little chewed up, not providing a good first impression. However, the course was in very good shape, including medium to fast greens. Challenging but not intimidating layout. Good value for money. Minimal restaurant facilities. Would play it again. March 6, 2013
Good shape If in town for a period of time would play this every day March 1, 2013
Solid Golf Course This was a good golf course layout. The green had lots to offer and the course was in good shape fairways and greens. The desert areas and around the tee boxes were definitely not being kept up. We arrived to no balls at the driving range and we were sharing the very few balls among 6-8 on the driving range. There was lots of ball they just had not been out picking them up. Beverage girl was around a fair amount but not very friendly. February 23, 2013
MR 5 hrs for a round of golf needs either more space between "T" times or better ranger particaption. February 21, 2013
Must play Legend TRail gets it right. They truly try to give you an excellent experience and succeed February 20, 2013
friendly staff, great starter - got the early tee off groups out as two somes and that pushed the pace of play nicely, well done !! very nice set up, range was nice, staff very friendly, liked the fact they put 2's out for the first 3 or 4 groups and they moved along quickly - just over a 3 hr round which was great will definitley play Legend Trail again February 19, 2013
great shape! the course layout is great. very slow play, over 5 hours, if that happens again next time i would not go back! Everything else was very enjoyable, especially the staff! February 15, 2013
Great desert course with challenging carries but playable from a variety of tees. A must play when I am in the Scottsdale area. Pace of play was 4 hrs. vs. nearly 5 hrs. at Grayhawk Raptor the prior day and I paid twice the green fees at Grayhawk. February 11, 2013
desert like layout. Several unique holes. I enjoyed the day. Good practice areas. Some holes were hard to know where to aim to hit the fairways. Some holes had long carries to clear the desert sections. The greens were very good. The fairways were in good condition as well. If you clear the desert areas with your drives the fairways open up nicely. Overall a good day of golf. February 9, 2013
Wondeful golf Course I enjoyed playing the golf course very much. It will test your game but at the same time it also fair. The greens were in excellent condition and very nice to out but good roll and finish. Takes a while to play but just enjoy it. February 8, 2013
Slow play only problem Beautiful coarse but the pace of play was too slow. February 7, 2013
Very nice course but a little challenging Even though the course was in great shape, the bunkers were less than average as they are hard as concrete. Not very good for a high end course. February 6, 2013
Some tough holes Overall course had great value and challenging holes. Some bunkers need to be maintained. February 6, 2013
A little slow The course is in excellent condition and is beautiful. The forced carries on a couple of the holes are long but with the exception of the length of play it was a great experience. I certainly will be back February 6, 2013
Beautiful desert golf. Tricky greens; undulating, sloped and quick led to a few three putts. They were in pretty good shape but a little bumpy. The fairways also have a lot of contours which yields many interesting lies. Fairway grass was in great shape. The bunkers I was in could use more sand, there was only about an inch on top of hardpan. Overall, a very good course that is not too difficult if you keep the ball in play. No excessive forced carries and little water. I recommend you take the course tour on their website before play. February 5, 2013
Great course; challenging for average player Challenging because you must hit over desert on almost every hole. Not forgiving. But beautiful views; well maintained and run. Pace was a little slow but overall very enjoyable round. January 27, 2013
course is scenic; good greens, conditions good-not pristine, good design, tough for an ave golfer well designed with a good practice area; support staff very friendly, from cart girls to indoor counters. takes time to find from Scottsdale area; expected no crowds due to distance from scottsdale--instead course was totally loaded. painfully slow pace of play @ 5:20. several holes with 3 groups on tee box or playing same hole. Would not play again unless assured course was not full or unless going out @ 7am January 25, 2013
Good course spoiled by one slow group. All holes are different from each other. The condition is very good and it is plenty challenging. We finished in the dark because of one slow group making us wait for 5 minutes on every tee. There were no rangers to be found for the last 6 holes. January 23, 2013
