Challenging but playable
Interesting and very playable course with strategic bunkering. It was in good shape but still recovering from overseeding and was cart path only. Greens were true but slower but than what they would otherwise play. Very good range and practice facilities. I look forward to playing this course again.

Very nice, challenging but very playable
The course was in pristine condition. the greens were firm yet very receptive. The fairways are manicured perfectly with good roll out of well hit tee shots. Don't hit it in the ruff! Great golf course worth every penny. I want to return and play the Palmer course. Staff was very pleasant and helpful which made for a great day of golf. Only down side was one of the "members" I was paired up with was probably the most unfriendly person I have ever played golf with, they do not need members like him!

Enjoyed the round.
Played with my son (15). Pace was great and the course was in great shape. GolfNow was the way to book. Saved $60 per person.

A great golf experience
I scored a free round from golfnow rewards and got to play a course normally out of my price range. The course was in excellent shape , greens very fast. Read alot of reveiws complaining about the many sand bunkers.Which really aren't too bad if your paying attention and choosing the right clubs(less than driver is ok). This is one of the nicest courses I've ever played.

Fabulous course
My friends and I played Wildfire Faldo course as one of six rounds at different high quality courses around the Phoenix area and found it to be one of the best we played. The course was challenging and was easily the best condition course we played. Very enjoyable round and I am certain we will be back. A highly recommended course.

Bring your sand wedge.
Excellent shot values as each hole presents a problem as to how to fit a tee shot between the bunkers and into a position to attack the green. Approaches usually offered safe alternatives to trying to fly the ball onto the pin. Nice combination of long and short holes. I hit greens in regulation with everything from a 5w to a gap wedge. Greens putted very true, like on a pool table, albeit a slanted one. Hard to find better conditioned fairways or greens anywhere.

Visually intimidating but fun to play.
Very nice course. On par with every Marriott run courses I have played. Great staff. I am not a big hitter and played from the white tees. Most greens reachable in regulation IF your aim is good. The course as plenty of fairway traps and the greens are heavily guarded by deep bunkers. Incridible GPS systems on the carts.

Nice layout, very good condition
Visually interesting layout, lots of bunkers. Greens in very good condition. Pace of play was 4 hours, which is good for a resort course during peak season.

Great course with wonderful desert scenery.
The course is in great shape! Faldo is a very playable course even for a "bogey golfer". Wide fairways but several opportunities for finding the sand if you stray. The greens are fast and take a little getting use to if you're an aggressive putter.

Challenging, well-conditioned, desert golf
Very enjoyable experience at Wildfire. The Faldo course is in excellent condition - fast, smooth greens, and well manicured fairways. Landing areas are generally wide with much of the challenge coming from the numerous green-side bunkers that will swallow up errant approach shots. On-cart GPS is very helpful in this regard. Thanks for the great rate on Golfnow.com

Top drawer
Very nice course. Best condition I played all week. Hard shots, but fair. I would like to play it again.

4 gals from the east play golf in the desert
This is a beautiful course in the desert with a plethora of bunkers. However, it is not overly punitive with regards to the placement and navigation of these bunkers. We enjoyed the GPS feature in the carts. The course was in marvelous shape when our foursome played; we learned after our round that the LPGA Founders Tournament will be played there in early March. We highly recommend the Faldo Course at Wildfire.

Beautiful, fast greens - fun day
The course is fantastic. The staff was over the top friendlly and helpful. This is what you would expect from a JW Marriott. When we were there they were getting ready for an LPGA event. I pity the ladies because the course was tough and the greens fast. The GPS on the carts were really helpful. I didnt always put the ball where the GPS thought it should go, but i had a great time the entire round.

the course was in excellent shape. challenging yet forgiving. sand traps were awesome.
the staff was more than accomidating. our tee time was 10:42am and one of our golfers was running late. they pushed out tee time back so we could have an enjoyable game. staff that enjoys there job and understands customers concerns. my hats off to all of them. jd

Nice course
The course was in great shape and the greens roll true and fast. The course is short but but requires you to set up your shots to have success. The driving range was part of the cost to play which was nice although it wasn't cheap. I got to play for half price because of this great site. I wouldn't pay full price to play this course but I wouldn't pay that much to play any course. If you can get out on this course for $100 or so it is well worth the investment.

Too many traps
Driving range was in poor condition and so crowded that had to wait 15 min to get on
February 18, 2013
excellent
green speed excellent.....staying out of the traps is the challenge
February 16, 2013
serious bunkers and layout requires smart play
beautiful layout with challenging guarded greens
good conditions and serious bunkers in both fairways and around greens

Awesome course
The Faldo course at JW Marriot Wildfire is a forgiving course(if you use course management), while offering a challenge for the thrill seekers of golf. Very well laid out, greens were like a pool table, and very well manicured. Staff was very courteous and the club house and driving range amenites were great.

Great course, fine value.
We played in late January, and found the course to be a blast. Fine value for the money, especially winter season Scottsdale. Course in excellent condition, staff ready and willing to help. Wish I could have played another round.

great course! got to practice my bunker play a lot!
Freindly, helpful staff.Wonderful course.Look forward to playing it again often. No tricks, just a ton of well placed bunkers.

Amazing
Great conditions, super quick greens, very pleasing to the eye.
January 22, 2013
very good greens, tight fairways, lots of bunkers
the driving range was in really bad shape (the tee area) uneven ground you couldn't find a level lie! The fairways are too narrow ,too many bunkers and they have small rocks in them so borrow your buddies sand wedge so you don't ruin yours!! The greens were absolutely wonderful,as close to perfect as i've ever played on! i prefer a course that's a little more in front of you and not a funky layout because they were running out of land or had to squeeze a few extra condo's in

Hope You Like Sand
Awesome course well kept but if you are a average golfer I hope you like the Sand cause it is everywhere.

Great course
Pristine, fun, challenging, loads of bunkers that are fluffy and OK to get out of. Highly recommend this Faldo course. Good pace of play, GPS, helpful folks. Well stocked pro shop, better prices here for a high end course. Rating seems high, we all shot 1 to 2 shots lower. Views are great. Logo pink Pinnacle golf balls at a good price. Greens are true, rough is not to high, fairways are perfect.

Very good experience
The staff is the friendliest, I will definitely return on my next visit.

Great course, great staff
We had an unusual 90 minute frost delay. During this time the staff were wonderful and gave us complimentary coffee or hot chocolate. Once cleared to play, the course was in great shape. Greens were relatively fast and ran true. Lots of bunkers, sand was coarse and packed. Tight target areas for driving, but no real "blind" tee shots which required previous course knowledge. GPS was not always accurate for pin location on the greens which made it a bit challenging to gage approach shot yardage. Good variety and a challenging course. Will play it again sometime.

Good Course
This course was in really good shape. There were, in my mind, way too many bunkers, over 200... Greens rolled true, but there were little pebbles all over them, as well as all over the rest of the course and tee boxes. really had to be aware of them when putting, teeing off and generally striking anywhere. All in all I want to try many other courses in Arizona, but I would play here again.

This couse has great features and I enjoyed the desert wildlife setting.
The Wildfire Resort has excellent facilities with a huge pro shop, fully equipped driving range and teaching facility. The electric golf carts with GPS, coolers and other amenities were also very nice.
The course lays out in a pleasing manner and has a nice mix of par 3,4, and 5's on it. Greens were fast and true and there was even room to bump some shots up in front and roll the ball on if you wished to get to the pin that way.
