Front nine is average - back is excellent
Overall a great experience. Front nine was a bit non descript but the back was tough with some great holes. Some great elevation changes for desert course. Bring lots of balls!

Could have been great experience!...as I said could have..
For the money you are paying you would think that the staff in clubhouse and on course could have at least pretended to be happy that you decided to be there. I golf a lot of places around the country and must say this was one of the worst places I have been for staff attitude.
Tough to recommend this course unless there is some significant changes in staff attitude. If you have a choice between playing this course which is a nice course or another one ranked a little lower but with better staff recommendation, I would choose the latter. Really felt that by staying at the Hilton resort and with this being associated with it thought it would be a better experience.

Well maintained!
I like the course as it was clean and Fair, but like many courses in Phoenix the price pooint is still too high. We go every year anyway but we would go more frequently if the price were less expensive.

Great Views
Like the lay out and it is challenging from the tips.
Greens / pin placements were tricky.
Play was slow, but no worries enjoyed the views.

This course had a better nature viewing experience than golf outing.
Overall this was a positive golf experience with some complaints. The course is laid out far too long, with lots of driving between holes. The elevation changes were fun but I wish they would have given us some idea of what the holes looked like because there are alot of blind shots. Many of the greens needed maintenance.

Beautiful golf course - worth playing
The only recommendation I would make is better clarity on where the pro shop is located compared to where the driving range and first tee is - it is very confusing. Otherwise, a wonderful golf course all the way around.

Great views
I would return to this course again and again. Good value for money. Good fast greens, fairways in excellent shape a very playable course for all levels dependant on tee used. Would certainly recommend it.

Good course with friendly staff
Everyone - from the person who greeted me to the staff unloading the cart at the end of the round was extremely friendly and helpful.
The course was in good shape. Since this was my first time here, I put my ball into trouble a few times but overall played OK.

Nice course
Nice course, challenging, not as pristine as I expected. Hole signs were nicely displayed and the course was well maintained; seemed a little pricey, though. Staff was friendly and helpful, refreshment cart was there when we wanted it. Will definitely consider playing the course again.

Nice, resort golf in north Phoenix
The course plays under 6600 yds from the tips so the course is a very comfortable day for players of all abilities.
The greens were quick, but consistent all day long.
A cart is definitely needed, as a there are a few drives between holes. This travel time adds to the time needed to play a round, so factor it in.
Bring the camera as well, as there are some opportunities for a pictures high up on the hill.

Interesting Layout
The layout of the course is fun yet challenging. Pristine conditions. Pace of play was adequate at 4-1/2 hours. Met all our expectations for an Arizona desert golf experience. Would play Lookout Mountain again.

Fun, fair golf course that requires every club in your bag.
Lookout Mountain is not a long course, but also not just a target golf course that requires you to leave driver in the bag all day. Several fun risk/reward holes are mixed with par 3's of varying lengths and styles. The more I play this course, the more I enjoy it. Great retaurant/bar for after the round doesn't hurt a bit!

Fun course with lots of change in elevation
This is fun course in the heart of Phoenix. It features lots of elevated tees and, for the Valley of the Sun, surprisingly good changes in elevation. Great variety of holes - no two alike. This course proves that par 3's don't have to be long to be challenging. Greens have a lot of pitch and roll to them and provide a good challenge.

Good variety of holes
Staff was attentive and helpful. We enjoyed the variety of the layout. Course was in good condition, fairways were exceptional and the greens were average. Take plenty of balls if you don't hit it straight as the desert ate several of ours. Would have been helpful to have a map of holes on the scorecard as you couldn't see several greens from the tee.

Beautiful course, loved the blend of desert and traditional on most of the holes. Views were great, with exceptional elevation changes - especially on the back nine. I was teamed up with a fellow Canadian who was originally from Montreal and we had a great time on the course.

Has it all!!
Our foursome has been coming to Phoenix every Feb for 14 years. This was the first time we played Lookout Mountain. The course had everything we look for in a course. Every hole was unique with close to half with scenic elevated tees. The course was a challenge yet gives a fighting chance. I've seen mixed reviews on the service but our experience couldn't have been better. We'll be back next year.

A true gem in the Phoenix area!
First time at Lookout Mountain GC. Found a great price on Golf-now! Course was truly stunning with excellent opportunities for low scores. The last 9 holes were truly amazing. Will definitely play again!

Great course with great looks.Great condition.However,every staff member encountered was unfriendly including the cart lady who called my wife cheap for leaving a $1 tip for a soft drink costing 4.50.

A challenging but Fair course
I love the course and like to play it every time I come to the area.
Fun to play with great views on most holes. Shot selection is very important as distances can be deceiving.

I always recommend this course to everyone.
I am very dissappointed in the condition of the sand traps in general, most specifically the fairway traps. I'm also very dissappointed in the condition of the vegitation, trees and lanscape plants that have been let go and infested with "grape ivy" that is killing lots of plants. I have seen no effort to remove or treat the trees, plants, etc., from the "grape ivy". I have played this course throughout the year and watched as the "grape ivy" has taken control of the plants and trees without anyone doing anything about it. Your course superintendant should know better, or there has been major cutbacks to fund his efforts, I expect both. I've played this course since 1988 and I hate seeing it let go. Hope that is not reflective of the future.
