A great setting. Fast greens.
We always enjoy driving down to Kino Springs from Green Valley.
The course is in good shape; greens are like greased lightning.
Too bad that the kitchen is closed.
We'll be back!

Unique and fun
The change in landscape and elevation are the most interesting aspects of this dandy track just north of Nogales, AZ. Our foursome of seniors were challenged right off the bat with a visually intimidating uphill (no, really; 200 feet up!) par five. Kino Springs has probably the most original set of short par 4 holes I have ever seen. None of these are more than 350 yards (white tees), but for challenging play, I'd put them up against all comers. The course amenities are showing their age, and the bar was closed the day we played, but the course showed evidence of good care- was well maintained. I'll return to try again- it was worth the trip and the price.

Great layout after the first couple holes.
Golf course is way off the beaten track but worthwhile drive to play it.
Canyon holes are narrow and make you think of your club selection before hitting. Golf carts old but ok, cart paths are in need of repair, but not a reason not to play this course.
Enjoyed my round and I drove over from Sierra Vista.

First time ever here...Drove from Tucson and found this a very nice, comfortable place to play...Great greens! Would recommend to anyone...

Start you out easy then hold on tight
I have played this course several times. It starts out fairly easy for the first four holes, and then you head into the hills and valleys. There are a couple of holes where you need to "hold on tight." The secenery is outstanding. The greens are fair, yet fast. The traps are full of sand. As you leave the hills and valleys, you go back to the "falts" to give your heart rate a chance to slow down. What a neat course!

It's alright .... I wouldn't rate as a "hidden gem."
The course was in good condition, very friendly staff. Some tee boxes are next to greens, was almost hit by a tee shot.

enjoy the middle holes that are back in the hills.
Course is well maintained for the money and the staff was super friendly. Really enjoyed the day at Kino Springs.

It's good family and friendly place to play, but having a 6 some in front of you and a 5 some 3 carts behind us was screwie!!!
Don't understand having 6 people in front of us with three carts (men & women) and 5 guys with three carts behind of our 4 some. On hole number 3 one of us took a few mins. to find his ball and we played on. The 5 guys behind us had caught up and 6 in front had moved on. The marshall came in front the side and told us we need to get moving. This was uncalled for. By the time we got to the 4 hole we were waiting again. It was kind of back and forth all day. We had a good time, but we were waiting for the marshall to let him know just what is going on with all these people and carts.

Kino Springs is a challenging course that requires your best shots.
Kino Springs is truly a hidden gem. Twenty Five dollar green fees coupled with a ten dollar cart fee allows you to wind through challenging mountainous fairways ending on lightning fast greens. All well maintained and manicured. Truly an enjoyable golf outing that can be enjoyed by all skill levels. I look forward to returning.

Great Greens!
Fairways spotty and cart paths brutal. Gas carts with no wind screen. Middle nine holes in the hills very scenic and interesting. Worth the trip.

Nice location, okay condition, friendly people and some difficult holes.
Hilly terrain, thin grass and windy conditions made some of the holes difficult. Nice variety of holes but did not like the second par 5 on the front side as the landing area for the drive was small and the traffic around the t-box was crowded. Cart attendant and his dog were a joy. Price was okay. Pace was very slow as many people were looking for their balls. Three stars at best.

some of the fastest greens you'll see in southern Az.
Kino Springs has some very friendly golf holes coupled with spot on target golf. The greens had to register 14 on the stemp meter. Unfortunately, we had 30 + MPH winds the day we played and if your putt was up hill and against the wind, you're putt could be blown back to you and right off the green. Under windy conditions, make sure you're putt gets to the hole. No matter, you need to play this course once just to experience the greens.

Very well maintained.
The staff has done a great job on the course. The greens were especially nice and fast!
February 18, 2013
Greens putted true but tough
A 45 minute drive from Green Valley but worth the price
and play was better than around Green Valley.
The staff was excellent.

Surprising course in very good condition
Really enjoyed playing this course. Good to very good condition with relatively challenging holes. Highly recommend for players of all skill levels.

Hidden treasure
This course is one of my favorites. Well maintained, challenging, but fun. Views, fast but true greens, great fairways. If you've never played here I highly recommend you do.

Not in its prime, but a great layout.
Has lots of really nice terrain which provides challenges for a variety of shots - draws, fades, forced carries, side hills, risk-reward, etc. Your driver better be working and your irons reasonably accurate if you want to score. Greens were in good+ condition. I've played 9 courses in the Green Valley/Tubac/Nogales area in the past 2 weeks and this course was the most interesting and scenic. While not in its prime, it is in same or better condition than other course in the area I've played, and the best architectural layout of all. Warning: When you arrive, don't be fooled by the austere appearance of the pro shop and driving range. Step onto #1 blue tee for a glance of what is ahead - par 5 with 50 ft drop from tee to fairway, forced carry over a lake, to a fairway that doglegs right. As already noted, your driver better be working today. Game on!

Kino Springs Golf enjoyable.
Play is at good pace. Greens putt true and in great shape, players repairing ball marks well. sand is good and churned. fairways green and a bit thin but good lies. Tee boxes good for most part, some need a bit of leveling.

A Great unpretentious Southwestern Golf Course!
When you arrive in the parking lot of Kino Springs you are greeted by a friendly cart attendent with your cart who will help you load if you desire. For the time of year & hard freezes we had just gone thru Kino Springs was in great shape. The greens were in particularly good shape running fast & true. There are great elevation changes in the middle 8 or 9 holes going up into the mountains and then back down. The course pro/ manager was out on the course & stopped & spoke with us about our experience on the course. There is a genuine feeling of concern & friendliness by everyone. We saw several different groups of deer that were not at all concerned by our presence. After the round thre is an attendent greeting you, asking about your round & offering to clean your clubs & assist in putting your clubs in your car with out the feeling of them only there for a tip. Go visit you'll love the Golf, the sceanery & the ambiviance of the Southwest.

Excellent Value! Great views and fabulous condition.
Our foursome played Kino this week for the first time. Found it to be in one of the best conditons of any course in the Green Valley/Nogales area. Fairways lush and greens in excellent shape. What a nice surprise. Best value around. Only complaint was that there was no full service restaurant/bar to sit and enjoy the views after out game.

Nice course, play is pushed though.
This is a good course value. Not for beginners. Several holes with blind shots, so playing after the first time would be much more enjoyable. Take plenty of water with you as there is not much on the course. Play is pushed over safety; I will not hit into people just to "stay in contact" with the group in front.

Pretty, quirky course in good shape
Fun course. Flat and wide open opening and closing holes, mountainous and tricky middle holes. Good fairways and greens.
January 17, 2013
Course is in very good shape
The course is in really good shape. The fairways are solid and the greens are in great shape and quick. The nice thing here is that they didn't set their first tee times early expecting frost delays, so the wait was minimal.
January 6, 2013
the course was fun to play
Course was more diddicult to play on the back side.
January 6, 2013
nice weather, great views
Course in good shape, but the cart paths are a little bumpy. The greens are very fast as usual. Great views of wildlife including a hawk in the 6th hole. Also great views of the surrounding mountains particularly those in Mexico from the 8th hole. Played in 3 1/2 hrs on Christmas eve.

Great value, fun course
Kino Springs is located in a beautiful part of southern Arizona, fantastic views everywhere. Course is kept in nice condition, especially the bunkers. They actually have sand unlike so many courses these days. Many side hill lies, tight fairways at times although short at 6500 yards from the tips. Don't let this fool you, carries a slope rating of 131. I personally just love playing at Kino.
December 13, 2012
course was in great shape.
I haven't played this course in 12-15 years. It has improved. It is in great shape! My brother and I had a great time on this course on 12/10/2012! Keep it up! We will be back!

Kino is always fun and in great shape.
Two thirds of holes are interesting and challenging. Somehow on a small budget the course is kept in great shape. Greens are smaller but always in excellent condition, fast, and challenging. It's worth the trip.
