Jack Nicklaus took advantage of the High Sonoran Desert setting to integrate strategy, variety and fair shot values into his Signature golf course at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain. With his first Tucson golf course in 25 years, the famed Golden Bear designed 27 holes, each a par 36 that presents unique challenges and distinct character, blending naturally among noble saguaros that stand together along the surrounding Tortolita Mountain Range.

The Golf Club at Dove Mountain's Saguaro/Tortolita course was unveiled to a global audience during the 2009 World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship. The top 64 players in the World Rankings return in February, when another week of exciting, head-to-head competition is anticipated on the same course that can be enjoyed by golfers of all ages and abilities.

Only 80 minutes south of Phoenix, the award-winning Golf Club at Dove Mountain is a dream destination. The elite desert venue, where elevation ranges from 2,300 to 3,000 feet, offers incredible views of the mountain ranges that surround the greater Tucson area. Golfers can reenact the shot-making of today’s legendary players, just as Nicklaus envisioned, and fine-tune their game at the comprehensive, 12-acre practice facility.

The Golf Club at Dove Mountain is also home to a 45,000 square foot clubhouse, offering full-service locker rooms and golf shop with a selection of premium merchandise and rental equipment. Inside, Cayton’s restaurant opens out to an elegant covered patio, the perfect setting to relax with a signature beverage, or just enjoy the vibrant Arizona sunset from beside the natural stone fireplace. Cayton’s is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily and features American comfort cuisine with a Southwestern flare.

The Golf Club at Dove Mountain is a place that embodies the authentic outdoor lifestyle of the High Sonoran Desert. Enjoy the enchanting, panoramic views and the rich visual history in this picturesque retreat, where adventure and a gracious spirit of hospitality come to life.

Calgary Golfer Wild Burro and Saguaro Perfect weather. Played from tips 7200 yds. No GPS, club or ball washers on carts. OK practice facilities. Good grass conditions. Fast greens. Wild Burro 9 holes is fine except for all greens design. They are so tiered and steep you might be wiser to chip up instead of putting up to next tier. Frustrating false fronts, false sides, false backs. You can hit a great shot and it will roll off the back, side, front, and roll off 20 yds. It is ridiculous to be penalized with good shots that hit the green and roll off...even if you are putting. Pretty goofy. Saugaro 9 holes a bit better but less severe greens, but still same problems in principle. You will be penalized for hitting good shots on to the greens. Can understand why the PGA doesn't play Match Play here. Until they redesign the green, will never play again, and recommend you don't either. March 20, 2015
Great course, expensive, watch for deals Difficult. No level spots on fairways or greens. No tricks, just difficult. March 17, 2015
Very fun to play! Would definitely go back. Course was fun to play, and the staff was friendly. Most importantly. smart enough to choose the correct tees! March 17, 2015
Where was the GPS Great course, However advertised GPS and told new carts not installed yet. This should have been disclosed so I would not have left mine @home.... March 17, 2015
Incredible My first time here and I never played a golf like this it is a beauty! Conditions are very nice, the greens are so quick! After 3 holes you know that you have to be less aggressive to enjoy the course (or you are a Pro!) Only thing to say, bring your clubs or you will have to pay (70$...) March 17, 2015
Dove Mountain Blues This is a beautiful coarse and I am glad I played it for a second time. The reason I said I would not recommend it is it is too difficult for all but the highest skilled players. I am an 11 handicap and can not handle the severity of the greens. March 14, 2015
Nice, but needs a little water!! The course was chanllenging and beautiful, but the greens were so fast that it almost made it no fun to play. They are all undulating greens, which I love, but too dry to even have a chance of keeping the ball on the green! No water in the bathrooms either on the course or the club house. March 13, 2015
What to do with a lower handicap woman? Signed up online as a single to fill in a foursome. After warming up at the range and putting green people seemed friendly. The twosome in front of me went out early. I inquired whether my time was still the same. The starter told me that he had no one to pair me with that I would be going out alone. I told him I wasn't comfortable with that since I had never played the course before. He told me I could join up with a threesome of men headed for the tee. We had to wait on every tee box and approach shot to the green since the group ahead of us were very slow. The new carts do not have GPS yet, and they do not have a marshal. I guess normally they call to the cart if a group is out of position. This made for a long 4 1/2 hour round. When we came in I inquired about the ladies slope and rating from the yellow tees. I'm not sure if they don't like woman, or they just don't have many low handicap women that play here. I would play here again. March 10, 2015
