Wonderful Course - Very Well 'Manicured'!
We were so excited to be able to play this course. It will really 'humble' your game. Has lots of sand traps - some very deep. 9th hole on the Tortolita is very challenging! But we loved it and cannot wait to play the course again! The staff was so friendly and quite helpful as we navigated out way around from course to course.
Our day had a very sad & disappointing ending unfortunately, as my girlfriend left her putter (a family heirloom, 60 year old brass Lazer putter) on the 17th hole green (Wild Burro 8th). We discovered it as we approached the 18th hole green (Wild Burro 9th). We hurried back to the twosome (a couple) behind us and then a twosome behind them (2 men), but all four said they did not pick it up. We were shocked......as she is quite upset over it. This is not the course's fault obviously. We're hoping someone comes forward with the putter since her phone number and name are on it.

Very nice course - high end experience
Overall great day of golf. Tee time every 20 minutes so not so crowded together. Nate (cart bag handler) was very friendly, helpful and genuine. The pro shop guy seemed apathetic.
If playing for the first time it is difficult to tell where to hit off the tee on many holes. It does make a difference how you set up your shot into the elevated, bunkered, and geometrically situated greens.
Greens are almost over undulating with each green having many levels and pin areas. You may hit the green or be just off, but still plenty of work left (typical Nicklaus course, I guess).
I played yellow tees and still found it very challenging.
My wife played forward tees. She hits her tee shots around 160 yards and was faced with many holes where she was hitting a 3 wood to an elevated green with very little room to land it.
A challenging round of golf that is in great shape with beautiful scenery and wildlife (loved the big jack rabbits).

This is an excellent course in excellent condition. The greens are consistent and clean. The sand is not too deep but is actual sand unlike the other Tucson area courses. A little far out but worth the drive. There's lots of desert wildlife. The pace is pretty good and people let you play through. The staff there is really friendly. There's a nice driving range putting greens and chipping and bunker practice. The greens are one kind of grass and the course was in great shape.

Put on your bucket list
Awesome. Course has views that can distract a focused golfer . Being from New England this was a treat. Golfnow price of $89 made this an easy call. Do not miss this course.

Excellent course, always in great condition, expensive
I play this course anytime I can get a good deal on the price. The facilities are top class. Course has been in great shape every time I've played it. Played in the afternoon and pace of play was very good, even as a single. greens are tough with a lot of breaking putts. Pretty wide for a desert course. Only draw back is how expensive it is during normal times.

One of the nicest courses I have ever played. Difficult, so you need to hit it straight or bring extra golf balls, because they were not easy to find if you get in the desert. It was true desert course and in excellent condition, greens fast and true, and staff and food were the best.
