The Red Course was created by Robert "Red" Lawrence, the famed golf course architect responsible for Arizona's first desert golf course. Red is also credited with being involved with the designs of the Merion, Homestead, Westchester, and Desert Forest Golf Clubs. To this day, his work at The Wigwam perfectly complements Jones' Gold and Blue courses. With a length between its two siblings and par 72, The Red plays alongside streams and ponds set among a forest of pines, cypress and eucalyptus trees. From the back tees, the final 3 holes will make you feel like a hero or make you call your pro for a lesson the next day!

Rated 4 out of 5 by 457 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Rough for a resort No sand in the bunkers Patchiness in fairways and around the greens. Club house is hard to find Only good thing was the pace of play. August 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by This course is nice paly course The heritage course is good to play. A lot tree, so is not too hot. July 25, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Wigwan A lot of fun. Nice big trees for shade in the hot summer. July 22, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Revisit to Wigwam Only my second time playing at Wigwam. Played the Heritage course as a single but got paired up with a threesome. The course was a typical old school layout. Mature trees line the adequate fairways and not much rough. There was some water hazards and a couple of forced carry's. Found the bunkers to be more dirt than sand, yet not to challenging. The greens rolled fairly true. A few greens displayed bare spots, but hey it's summer in Arizona! Overall a fun and enjoyable course. The entire staff were friendly and courteous. Next time I'll play the Gold course (was closed). July 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wigwam Gold My niece placed second in the state of Arizona on the Gold course. The course was definitely an exceptional experience!!!! 4 hr 15 min pace. I'm accustom to playing slightly faster. This pace is the accepted pace of the resort. A foursome two groups ahead were setting the pace. The practice facilities are FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! June 29, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great round until back nine Great round at the Wigwam Gold course. I had a noon tee time but got off a few minutes early as no one was out there. Was able to play by myself from the back tees which was great. I finished the front nine in just over an hour. Then I started to run into a dad and his son playing. I got to the tee box as they were hitting on 11. The dad scowled at me and kept playing. He didn't ask me if I wanted to play through which was rude. Thag being said, the last 7 holes took 1.5 hours and waiting on every single shot. No rangers around to complain to, either. But, still a good round and had fun in the sun. June 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Time Excellent course as always very tough for someone my age (70) but still enjoy playing it once in awhile. June 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I will definitely be back. Course is in great shape. Greens are a little fast but vary predictable. Beer cart made regular rounds staff was friendly. Only thing I would change is it would have been nice to have a hole legend on the score card. Had to take some time to figure out where the hole was in relation to the tee box on a few holes.
