The Gold Course, a long and winding layout, was Jones' West Coast version of the relentless South Course at Firestone.

Great Course, but long This is a great course, but it is pretty long. Can change your game if you are use to playing shorter course., The course was in great shape, pace was excellent, played in 3 hr. and 45 minutes. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Will play again when I am back in AZ. March 25, 2015
wayne The best course I haver ever played. An absolutely beautiful course. Will play again! March 23, 2015
Pros and Cons The Patriot is the least busy of the Wigwam courses so if you're in a hurry it's the one to play. We were a twosome and went around in 3 hours 20 minutes. The course is in good shape (a few of the bunkers could use a bit more sand in them). Two beefs: 1. It's a goofy layout. Par 70 (36-34) and you get to the 6th hole before you get the first par 4. 2. The course ratings for the Wigwam courses are out of whack. Patriot is about 65. This is at least a stroke or two too low. Granted it's a par 70 but the greens are tricky....well protected by bunkers, often small, sloped, domed. The Heritage is about 69 (par 72) which is probably about right. The Gold, dubbed Arizona's Monster, is about 70.4. It's one of the hardest courses around and it's only rated a stroke higher than the Heritage??? March 20, 2015
Wigwam Patriot Great time... Love the course! Very well-maintained. Enough challenges to make it interesting, but not too difficult for an average player. March 19, 2015
Great day for golf We got up early to play a round before spring training game. Got to the course before 7am and were greeted by friendly staff. Driving range ready with lots of free balls and putting green large with lots challenges. Pace of play great and course was in good condition. GPS on cart worked but could not get overhead views of holes so sometimes we found things like water behind holes we did not expect but oh well. It was a very nice course and I would play it again. March 17, 2015
Long This is a long course well maintained and firm greens March 16, 2015
In defense of the greens Some of the more difficult greens you will play. The course is not long. The fairways are wide there are a few hazards. But the greens require some planning. Like don't get short sided. the pins were, frankly a little unfair, given the slope of some greens. A couple were only about 4 feet from the fringe. Still, it was fun to navigate them, and I would play it again. March 10, 2015
WigWam Golf Great course. Unfortunately we experienced slow pace of play with a very slow foursome in front if us and no marshalls managing the play. The sand bunkers were awful, more like dirt and made for difficult and inconsistent to play out of. March 10, 2015
