Among Robert treat Jones contributions to the world of golf was the concept of the "signature course." His work at The Blue Course is testament to the ability of a great designer to create courses with such different character. The Blue has been described as sporty and subtle. Playing to a length just over 6,000 yards, but a par of 70 the test can be a bit deceiving. Here is a creative course: one full of decisions and thought-provoking strategy. The hallmark of Mr. Jones' design can be found in the array of deep and perilous bunkers, ponds and dog-leg fairways.

Great round until back nine Great round at the Wigwam Gold course. I had a noon tee time but got off a few minutes early as no one was out there. Was able to play by myself from the back tees which was great. I finished the front nine in just over an hour. Then I started to run into a dad and his son playing. I got to the tee box as they were hitting on 11. The dad scowled at me and kept playing. He didn't ask me if I wanted to play through which was rude. Thag being said, the last 7 holes took 1.5 hours and waiting on every single shot. No rangers around to complain to, either. But, still a good round and had fun in the sun. June 18, 2015
Great Time Excellent course as always very tough for someone my age (70) but still enjoy playing it once in awhile. June 17, 2015
I will definitely be back. Course is in great shape. Greens are a little fast but vary predictable. Beer cart made regular rounds staff was friendly. Only thing I would change is it would have been nice to have a hole legend on the score card. Had to take some time to figure out where the hole was in relation to the tee box on a few holes. Great Day on the Gold Course My first time playing golf since before last Christmas. Played the Gold course, tee time at 11:30 but got off early around 10:45. I had the front 9 to myself, and ran into a few people on the back but played through them. The course is in great shape tee to green, the greens being pretty fast. I really had a great time just being out there on such a nicely maintained course. Can't wait to play again next week. June 11, 2015
Course Closing on 6/8/2015 I was concerned when I showed up for my tee time when the staff informed me that the Heritage course would be shutting down for awhile and they hadn't been watering it. To my surprise, along with everyone's in Phoenix, we received some June rainfall, and this kept one of my favorite courses still very playable. This course has the biggest greens of the 3 at the Wigwam, and many of them aren't anthills like the patriot or gold courses. Too bad it seems that is west valley gem will be shutting down for this summer, but I hope that the planned improvements will add to it already appealing nature. Rounds play fast and the resort style layout will keep your errant tee shots from coming up missing like a lot of the desert courses here in the Phoenix metropolitan area. June 8, 2015
Where's the sand? I love the course except for a couple of issues. The Gold course has 85 sand traps. Only about 10 of them actually had sand. The rest were DIRT traps. Many of them are deep so chipping out of them is next to impossible. To bad - such a great layout! The other complaint - warm beer at the 8th hole snack bar. Warm Bud Light Lime and not very refreshing. Please add sand to the other 75 bunkers. June 5, 2015
Great Course challenging and good price I have played all the courses now at Wigwam and I must say that the Gold is by far the best. Very challenging, long, and fun... several holes with hidden water, small landing areas, and the greens were excellent. Every green is elevated and guarded well!!! June 1, 2015
Good Course Great layout should have played from another tee, joined with high handicappers. May 26, 2015
