Great Course!! Staff was friendly and course in great shape. Play it if you have the chance. April 6, 2013
Great Value , Par 4 look easy but make you work for your pars The course is in such good condition that you can't even tell you are in the desert . Lots of water , beautiful greens , consistent speed on the greens , Club House is high end , make you feel that you are playing a private club. April 5, 2013
The gold course is a challenge bring your A game! Had a hard time on the gold course didn't have my best game that day . But really enjoyed the white course number 4 is beautiful . All in all had a great time looking forward to playin this course again ocotillo is one of the better golf courses in Arizona not bad for the price got on for $39 on golf now.com ;) April 3, 2013
Nice course pushy marshals Course was in nice condition and for the most part the experience was good. One pushy course marshal was a royal pain in the rear. We were on pace keeping up with group ahead of us. The group behind us was 2 holes behind but he felt for some reason it was our fault and threatened us with " I'll make you guys skip a hole if you don't pick up the pace". We couldn't play any faster with out joining the group ahead of us. Was a busy Saturday morning. Not sure what his beef was with us. April 2, 2013
Water adds to beauty. We love this course for the challenges and conditions. You can WOW your players by having bottled water at various locations. Maybe get a sponsor for the water so the cost is minimal. Either way, we will be back! March 30, 2013
This is a very nice golf facility, definately worth playing. All 3 nines are good tracks, well maintained and provide a reasonably good challenge. Water is in play a fair bit of time. Troon does a great job of managing courses and you will find no exception here. The staff is friendly and help make the overall experience a good one. The only negative I would mention is the sand in the bunkers. It is a consistency that I am not familiar with and it may take spending a few minutes in a practice bunker to figure out. One should avoid bunkers anyway so not a big deal. Overall a complex that I would play again and recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably challenging golf course. March 29, 2013
Enjoyable, lots of water, good sand in the traps Got around the course in good time, in spite of the water trouble and some fairways roped off. Definitely a course to play. March 27, 2013
A solid golf experience except for my swing. Course was in great shape. The amount of water features were a bit unusual for this part of the country. Nice contrast to the more traditional dessert links. Very nice pro shop and patio as well. Relaxing day at the links. March 26, 2013
lots of water.....nice greens golfed in January....geese everywhere and their droppings March 26, 2013
Great golf The course was in excellent condition, and very challenging. Lots of water. A nice "Florida" type course in the desert. Will play again anytime I'm in the area. March 26, 2013
excellent course. one of my favorites Excellent course, one of my favorites. We played blue and white courses. Hope to go back and play gold. March 26, 2013
ocitillo Well kept fairways, honest, fast greens, polite and accommodating staff , excellent layout, lovely setting, What more could one ask . Would play this again in a heart beat! March 22, 2013
Greens Need Attention Staff needs to really impress patrons to fix ball marks as few are repaired on the greens leaving them very pot-marked and difficult to play on. A few reminder signs along the way to this effect near the greens would help I'm sure. March 21, 2013
Lots of challenging water holes. We were first out for the day so had a great time at a good pace. March 19, 2013
Not as difficult as I expected. I played the white-blue and white-gold 18's in the last two weeks. Being a relatively short driver (190-215), I was expecting great difficulty, even playing from the whites. I had read all the scary reviews about take lots of balls and all the water in play etc. etc. I found that keeping the ball in the fairway meant virtually no water trouble (it really isn't "in play" on 24 of the 27 holes). The first round I played I lost two balls to water, and the second round I lost one. Both rounds my net was below par (second round net 65! If you can hit the ball relatively straight (most fairways are very wide) this will be a thoroughly enjoiyable course for you to play. Excellent condition and grooming and good service. March 19, 2013
Well maintained and challenging Keep your tee shots straight to avoid the bunkers and the water. Fun course to play. March 16, 2013
Beautiful course and clubhouse Playing this course for the first time was very difficult without a GPS system as many of the shots were blind and not enough yardage markers. Next time I will bring my Sky Caddie and hope that your course has been rated. Thank goodness aPlayer Assistant came along on one hole and gave me an estimated yardage to the water or I would have lost another ball. March 16, 2013
We would play this course again. We would recommend to others. We would play this course again. We would recommend to others. March 16, 2013
Course is in great condition and is challenging with all the water Course is in great condition and enjoyable to play, just say out of the water. Need to determine the right club to hit. March 15, 2013
This course is excellent. I would recommend you to play this course if you are sick of playing in the desert. The course is like playing in Florida with lots of water hazards and the bunkers has plenty amount of sand in them. March 15, 2013
great course fun to play well maintained and a joy to play, staff friendly, nice facilities and course in beautiful shape March 15, 2013
very nice course! this course was beautiful and fairly challenging. water on almost every hole and the greens were very nice. the only negative i have is that the pace of play on the first 9 was pretty bad. (just over 2.5 hours) and we had to wait on almost every shot. i can see why the course is very busy this time of year. great weather and great customer service. the second 9 was much better, it took just under 2 hrs. i'll definitely be back when it's hotter, cheaper and less crowded. March 15, 2013
Beautful course Tee was within 5 min. of schedule, 12:38 pm. . We made the turn at 3:45. at that time the course manager told us it would be 45 to 60 min's. till we could start the Gold course as scheduled or play the Blue course in 20 min. O.K.t is now pushing 4:00. No way to finish by dark either way. I went into the Club house front desk and explained my issue. They refunded all of my money (which was cool) and said sorry. But that did not help my out of town guest play the course. Maybe next year. March 5, 2013
Challanging but Fair Great Desert golf, close in to city and staff was wonderful. High 90"s player and this course allowed you choices as to how to play, risk and reward. Great value March 3, 2013
Each hole is unique unto itself Wonderful,Fair course. Greens are tough and challenging. You have to think yourself around on every hole. We would use the reference book provided with every Tee shot. Lots of holes where you have to lay up. You will use every club in your bag. Lots of water but plenty of room to make shots. Bring extra balls if you are a boogy handicap or worse. March 1, 2013
Course a must to Play This course is very nice and challenging, lots of water and well maintained I have played this course numerous times over the years and would rate it very high on my choice of courses that I have played in the Phoenix area. February 28, 2013
Great douse - need some work in places This is a great track with 27 and plenty of water and other obstacles. The greens are great and if you are on the wrong part of these undulated surfaces it could be a long day, but fair. A few of the fairways and areas around some bunkers are thin and in need of some work. Perhaps the recent cold spells and frost delays has affected it, since its usually in much better shape. February 28, 2013
Spectacular course, very challenging for the 20+ handicapper. Players must be able to play their drivers, hybrids and long irons well on this course in order to have a good round. One simple mistake can frequently turn a par into a double or triple bogey. Playing the course conservatively and selecting the 'right club' is a must. Started the day at 1:48, but was not able to finish the 18th hole due to darkness and slow play in front. Did not see a course marshall at any time during the round. February 26, 2013
just ok Staff was very friendly, and the lunch in the restaurant was great. The course is just OK, if you like lots of water. Fairways and greens were average. February 25, 2013
Interesting holes, lots of water, enjoyable challenge I have played Ocotillo several times during February and March in the past three years. There are 27 different holes to test your game. The greens are especially testy with good size and lots of slope and swales. The whole course is well-watered and therefore no desert patches or hardpan to destroy your clubs. I use Golfnow to arrange a tee time so I am able to usually play at a fair rate. The staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, I very much enjoy playing at Ocotillo. February 24, 2013
