Lone Tree Golf Club is a semi-private, 18-hole championship course in Chandler, Arizona, about 30 miles southeast of Phoenix. Though the property may not be hyped to the degree of higher profile courses in the Valley of the Sun, with its strong user-friendly layout, beautiful setting in the shadows of the San Tan Mountains, and affordable tee times, Lone Tree Golf Club is a popular option for locals and traveling golfers alike. Course architect Darryl Wilson of the CMX Group laid out the playing field in 2001. Lone Tree Golf Club, which threads its way in a subdivision amidst housing, is a traditional-style layout with grass extending from tee to green. You ll find generous, gently rolling fairways with plenty of mounding and large, fast and undulating greens. Waste areas and desert loom beyond the groomed turf, but since they are not overly penal, lost balls are rare and recovery shots are usually possible. Water enters the fray on five holes at Lone Tree Golf Club, most notably on the signature par-3 12th which features an island green. When the wind kicks up on the exposed golf grounds, club selection can be very tricky. Over the years this championship course has hosted PGA Tour qualifiers and numerous other notable tournaments for both pros and amateurs. While the par-71 test maxes out at 7,007 yards for top-level play, Lone Tree Golf Club presents numerous other options to make the game enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels. In addition to the four sets of tee boxes, two hybrid distance configurations are available. Lone Tree Golf Club can be played as short as 4,971 yards. When you have a tee time you can warm up before your round on the driving range, chipping area, and putting green of Lone Tree Golf Club s North End Practice Facility. The clubhouse boasts a well-stocked pro shop (PXG rental clubs are available) and a grill restaurant with a varied menu and outdoor seating overlooking the 18th hole. It s no wonder that Lone Tree Golf Club has long been a popular tee time in southeast Maricopa County.
